The Company:
A major oil & gas exploration, production, refining, transport, and storage company

The Role:
To supervise offshore Maintenance, inspection and projects operations being carried out on company offshore facilities, utilising contractor work force using Utility Maintenance Vessel.


1. Company resident on-board utility boat supervisor responsible for all services provided by the Marine department to the customer utilising contractor supplied vessel, personnel and equipment.
2. Prepare all Work permits, Plan cope work, supervises and directs multi disciplined contractor work force during maintenance works, engineering projects and inspection activities on company offshore complexes and remote locations adhering to all safety rules and regulations, meeting company and international codes and standards.
3. Directs, monitors and approves a wide variety of activities such as maintenance on SBM's and equipment, Swing ropes, Safety equipment, moorings and equipment. Positioning of moorings offshore, maintenance of Navigation marks. Crane lifting operations from floating platforms and various other works as assigned. Ensures that all safety rules and practices are rigorously observed by work crews.
4. Liaises with other department personnel and JV partner developments, advising on work scopes, site access and preparation requirements for the activities to be carried out.
5. Responsible for administration of all aspects of contract ensuring compliance with terms and conditions. Monitors contractors services, reviewing and accepting submission for reimbursing contractor for services provided.
6. Compiles site survey report, daily and monthly report detailing work activities & progress status, completion documentation and as built packages for all scopes of work undertaken by the contractor ensuring full compliance with company engineering requirements and standards.
7. Holds tool box talks and safety briefings with contractor crew. Prepares and chairs monthly safety meeting for all personnel on-board vessel. Ensures company statutory vessel fire and safety drills are held each month.
8. Coordinates all vessel movements with master to ensure efficient utilisation for support services. Advises on future locations for planning of mooring requirements to position vessel for optimum support to construction crew.
9. Highly active and mentoring role in the training of Qatari development trainees from basic familiarisation through to an active role in the department offshore support service.
10. Carries out duties such as participating in the scheduling of work activities; recommending improved work methods, new materials or equipment and assists in evaluating contractor performance.


Accountable for supervision and administration of all aspects of a high value GTC day rate contract ensuring the terms and conditions are adhered to and the service provided is in compliance to company requirements. Any failure of efficient supervision could lead to lengthy delays in work scope completion and substantial financial loss to company.


Regular contact with Senior Operation Supervisor, but will have full independence in dealing with all company departments' senior supervisory personnel, company engineering survey teams, joint venture representatives and contractor's marine, supervisory and project personnel.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
1st mate Foreign - Going, or Class 2 marine engineering (2nd Engineer) or equivalent.
A minimum of 10 years in the Offshore Oil & Gas Industry with previous supervisory marine or maintenance operational experience is required.
Minimum 3 years international work experience
