The Role:
With interests in over 20 UK Continental Shelf (UKCS) fields, Company has one of the most significant exploration and production businesses in the offshore waters of the UK. A position that has significantly strengthened through the growth of our Norwegian business and the development of cross boarder North Sea plays. The Operations Support Engineer is part of the Europe E&P Operations Delivery Team and is accountable for supporting the day to day management of the assigned offshore production facility. Act as the central interface between the offshore operations team and the onshore support teams and vendors.
Key responsibilities relate to facilities production optimisation and front line trouble shooting support on production related issues. The role will ensure the minimisation of downtime and achieving of business production targets. The job holder will also ensure compliance with UK regulations in addition to Company policies and standards, providing assistance and governance as appropriate.


Key accountabilities

HSSE
• Engender a culture of continuous HSSE performance improvement.
• Ensure that operated Assets fully comply with Company guidelines and standards.
• Carry out role of Emergency Response Site Contact.
• Ensure commitments made to regulatory bodies are sufficiently actioned, planned and closed out within agreed timelines.
• Ensure formal amendments to relevant Company guidance practices / procedures are correctly prioritised, revised and communicated to all affected parties and remain within the bounds of current HSE legislation.

Technical
• Lead and provide a front line trouble shooting service for operational and production related issues.
• Co-ordinate day to day operational support on production/operational related issues.
• Responsible for validation of Asset monthly production forecasts and assumptions.
• Responsible for managing Platform ODRM Register
• Responsible for driving and embedding practices to enhance plant performance monitoring and reporting, improvement identification, loss capture and root cause analysis techniques.
• Provide production input into Asset Choke Models
• Recommend and co-ordinate changes/enhancements to debottleneck and/or optimise production-including identification and resolution of threats and vulnerabilities.
• Steer definition and implementation of a continuous improvement programme for production operations.
• Help assure and verify that facilities safeguarding systems are available and that they will operate-on-demand and in accordance with the Performance Standards.
• Responsible for Maintenance of Barrier Model with specific maintenance of relevant risk assessments and deferrals.
• Help lead identification and quantification of hazards, risks, threats and vulnerabilities involved in the asset operations phase ensuring that appropriate prevention, control and mitigation measures are identified and put in place.
• Manage and steward preparation activities concerned with platform production outages and slowdowns
• Responsible for prioritisation of CAP operational workscopes and work requests over immediate 6- 12 week time horizon.
• Responsible for embedding the asset planning process and application of assurance protocols supporting compliance with Gate entry criteria(12 week and 6 week gate)

Interface Management
• Liaise and co-ordinate with vendors regarding offshore service requirements and equipment issues.
• Interface with the Maintenance/Reliability/Engineering/Asset Integrity/Well Intervention teams to help establish, prioritise, prepare and deliver respective strategies, workstreams and activities.
• Interface with project teams and lead operational input into the define and execute phases applicable projects.
• Manage operational assurance and readiness activities associated with engineering modifications and CAPEX initiatives.
• Assist in the preparation and execution of major shutdowns with onshore/offshore teams.
• Liaise with logistics department to ensure personnel, flights and supply vessels are prioritised to support day to day platform needs.
• Assist in actioning, implementation and closeout of engineering change proposals and application of the asset MOC protocols

Integration
• Assist in the integration of installation operations.
• Help define strategic approach concerned with Asset operating practices and operations management systems, driving implementation in conjunction with Company policies and standards.
• Lead establishment and optimisation of Integrated Collaborative Environment practices.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
• Adept at working in a matrix structure.
• Strong engineering experience in an upstream business.
• Track record of demonstrating success at delivering production optimisation.
• Expertise in the resolution of complex production problems in operational facilities.
• Experience of production engineering in all lifecycle phases, including concept selection, FEED, detailed design, commissioning, and operations and for projects and operations with high complexity and high focus.
• Degree qualified in relevant engineering or equivalent, preferably Chartered Engineer.
• Proficient in the application of functional assurance processes.
• Ability to analyse problems, assess risk profile, determine action, and develop solutions, communicating intentions and progress to all levels.
• Track record of continuing professional development to keep abreast of latest developments relevant to discipline and industry.
• Fully conversant with national and international codes and standard
