The Company:
Our Client is a world leading Automotive OEM which is responsible for some of the most iconic 4x4's & Sports Cars produced. Due to the huge demand for current models and substantial investment in future projects there is a requirement for more resources across the business in engineering & manufacturing on a contract basis.

The Role:
Optical Quality (Visual Quality) Process Leader Leadership of the Optical Quality Process to facilitate delivery of a vehicle meeting its visual quality targets.
This includes:
• Organising and running daily Optical Quality review meetings and working closely with personnel from Product Development, Perceived Quality, Design, Dimensional Variation Analysis and Advanced Manufacturing Engineering
• Liaising with above groups to lead the resolution of Optical Quality issues, giving advice related to the development of engineering concepts and solutions for improved visual quality.
• Regular reporting of programme Optical Quality status / progress by issuing written statuses and presenting in review forums.
• Escalating issues that require senior involvement to resolve or buy-off.
• Specification of adjustable models to assist with buy-off of engineering.

Essential Experience and Qualifications:
3 KEY SKILLS REQUIRED
1. Ability to analyse and develop engineering concepts / solutions to issues to improve visual quality (Minimising process variation and / or visual effects of this variation)
2. Confidence to chair meetings and ability to lead the resolution of technical issues within a team environment - interfacing with other functions at various levels
3. Ability to interrogate CAD using visualisation tools such as Vis Mock-up and Digital Buck - (Note, not necessarily a CAD Engineer)
Experience and knowledge of Vehicle Body Engineering systems and components incl: engineering design, function, performance, production & manufacturing requirements
Experience and knowledge of manufacturing / tolerance and manufacturing process variation / process capability and how to improve this and / or improve the visual impact of this.
PC Literate, particularly in Microsoft Office: Excel, PowerPoint & Word
Good communication / interpersonal skills, self -confidence and self-motivated to deliver with minimum supervision
Experience of programme or project management, meeting demanding timescales

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
A working knowledge of OUR CLIENT (or Ford) project delivery process (OUR CLIENT PCDS or GPDS) - would be beneficial
Ideally candidates should hold a valid UK Drivers licence
