The Company:
Our client, a diverse Canadian Energy Company, plans new developments estimated at $12+ Billion over the next 5 years.

This position is open to Canadian Citizens and Permanent Residents only. Residents of Newfoundland & Labrador will be given first consideration for this position.

The Role:
Incumbent reports directly to the Expediting Manager – Procurement.

Under the authority of the Supply Chain Manager/Expediting Manager – Procurement, the Package Responsible Expeditor shall ensure that all Contractor/Supplier materials/equipment and related documentation for a major Hydro Electric Project are submitted and delivered in accordance with the Project construction schedule.

This will require liaison with multiple project disciplines such as purchasing, contracts, engineering, planning & scheduling, document control, inspection, material control and logistics, as well as regular contact with the Contractor/Supplier.

As a key member of the Expediting team, the incumbent will work in support of the Expediting Manager - Procurement - to facilitate the timely and seamless flow of contractor and supplier materials and data to its successful completion.

• Attend Pre-Award, Kick-Off and in-house Contractor/Supplier meetings when and as required.
• Expedite timely submittal and approval of the Contractor/Supplier’s supplier data deliverables including, but not limited to, critical drawings/documentation; fabrication schedules; sub-supplier schedules; Inspection & Test Plans; Monthly Progress Reports.
• Proactively expedite Contractor/Supplier via phone and/or email to ensure timely progress and completion of schedule-driven engineering, fabrication, testing and shipping milestones.
• Input current delivery dates and schedules into the Project reporting data system on a regular basis.
• Oversee and guide the expediting efforts of the Supplier Data Expeditor.
• Consult with the package responsible engineer to confirm supplier data revisions and/or late submittals by the Contractor/Supplier are acceptable and expedite action where required.
• Consult with the package responsible engineer to identify “critical” Contractor/Supplier supplier data to better focus the expediting efforts.
• Consult with the Project Team to confirm Contractor/Supplier fabrication schedule changes/slippages are acceptable and expedite action where required.
• Prepare Expediting Release Notice’s to the Contractor/Supplier.
• Work closely with the Logistics Coordinator to support a seamless path between Expediting Release Notice to physical shipment of goods.
• Attend internal progress meetings when and as required.
• Assist and support the efforts of the assigned Shop Expeditor where and as required.
• Issue Expediting Status Reports within the timeframe set out by Project Management.
• Assist in the resolution and closure of Non-Conformance Reports (NCR’s) issued by Project’s Inspection representative.
• Expedite and assist in the resolution and closure of Overshipped, Shortshipped and Damaged materials/equipment (OS&D’s).
• Expedite timely issuance of Material Receiving Reports (MRR’s).
• Initiate and expedite PO Close-Out activities.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
EDUCATION:
High school matriculation with at least 2 years post-secondary education preferably along the lines of business administration and/or purchasing.

EXPERIENCE:

• 3-5 years related experience in an Engineering, Procurement & Construction (EPC) environment.

• Experience expediting and tracking hydro materials/equipment.

• Proven ability to successfully interact with Contractor/Supplier personnel.
