The Company:
Our Client is a world leading Automotive OEM which is responsible for some of the most iconic 4x4's & Sports Cars produced. Due to the huge demand for current models and substantial investment in future projects there is a requirement for more resources across the business in engineering & manufacturing on a contract basis.

The Role:
Advanced Global Packaging Engineering is an integral part of the UK/EU Freight and Packaging Team, delivering all of the Packaging Strategy and Containerisation for all new models across all sites up to VP Build.

Key Responsibilities: Support the planning, development and implementation of all pallet developments for all new models across all sites, liaising with pallet manufacturers to ensure robust deliveries. Co-ordinate the concept buy-off for new containers and liaise with the related MP&L, Manufacturing, Purchasing, H&S and Quality areas as appropriate. Support the input of data into Packaging Databases, producing metrics as required and maintain own suppliers information. Maintain the Packaging Manufacturing Standards Document and support management activities through development and monitoring of timing plans. Support the Packaging Capital Budget for New Model. Drive the Packaging Strategy forward through Benchmarking and Research. Assist in the development of packaging suppliers to bring them in line with the Standards.

3 KEY SKILLS REQUIRED:
1) Be able to work independently, manage priorities, identify issues and solutions using own initiative, coupled with a desire to make a difference and tenacity to achieve results
2)Have experience of transit shipping methodology
3)Understand the supply chain for packaging and demonstrate knowledge of departments customers (both internally and externally.

Experience Required: Candidate must be able to communicate effectively at all levels both internally and externally. Candidate must hold a full driving license and be willing to travel between sites regularly.

Education Required: Degree in a relevant area or STEM subject area, is desirable.
