The Company:
Our major Oil & Gas Client is in need of a Packaging Engineer in Wayne, New Jersey for one year opportunity.

The Role:
Provide package engineering support for packaging issues, the development of new develop packaging cost-of-goods reduction recommendations while working with cross-functional teams, suppliers and/or consultants, and providing accurate and timely package specifications to the Americas Supply Chain.

Key Accountabilities

- Provide on-site technical support for trouble shooting packaging lines at Client and third-party blending/packaging locations.
- Coordinate and lead the development of Client packaging and shipping requirements.
- Perform line trials and qualifications of packaging components at Client, Third Party, and supplier facilities
- Assure primary and secondary packaging component compatibility.
- Assure packaging performance in field applications.
- Approve Artwork for new package launches or changes
- Develop, prepare, and submit specifications for packaging components to plants, suppliers, and other internal customers.
- Develop, coordinate, and evaluate all necessary package testing, protocols and certifications.
- Develop packaging test protocols, using company and industry standards, and evaluate package test results to provide recommendations.
- Provide input into packaging RFI’s, RFQ’s and RFP’s.
- Qualify and validate new component suppliers and/or processes through line trials and statistical analysis.
- Work on cross-functional project teams while providing technical support.
- Provide recommendations to improve current processes and techniques within packaging group.
- Support team leader in Global Network initiative implementations and spec database management.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Essential Education
- Legal authorization to work in the US on a full-time basis for anyone other than current employer.
- A minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in Packaging Engineering.
- Experience in specifying blow molding, corrugate, printed label, drum, pail, tube, extrusion, and injection molded components.
- Working knowledge of blow molding, corrugate, printed label, drum, pail, tube, and injection molding technology.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience with packaging.
- Specific software knowledge such as CAPE.
- Experience with distribution environment issues and solutions.
- Proven ability to partner with internal and external customers.
- Excellent project management and time management skills.
Desirable criteria & qualifications
- MS Degree in Package Engineering.
- Fluent in Portuguese and/or Spanish.
- Knowledge of MS Office.
- Experience in SPC or Six Sigma processes and techniques for analyzing and interpreting data
