The Role:
Key Roles and Responsibilities.

• Process Engineer. Provide engineering support within the unit including but not limited to:
o Monitoring of all processes to ensure optimal performance and conformance to specification, including Elpo, sealing & painting activities.
o Supervision of the process team, including Elpo Process, Paint Mix & Monitors
o Defect analysis, root cause investigation & defect elimination
o Adjustment of automatic painting robot application to optimise quality at the lowest available cost
o Dealing with quality issues as they arise either internally (directly in the unit) or from external customers (General Assembly, GCA, water test & warranty).
o Liaison with production departments to ensure smooth running of the Paint Unit. Active participation at quality meetings
o Usage monitoring & cost reduction
• Provide functional lead for one area of the Paint Process
• Support the unit in ensuring Environmental & COSHH Compliance
• Support the use of the PFMEA process to actively promote its use to drive quality improvements, defect elimination & process management
• Generation & presentation of problem solving measures as required
• Assisting with trials and quality/cost/throughput improvement as required.

Required Skills:

Candidates should have a HNC/HND/Degree Qualification in an Engineering subject. Relevant Paint Shop experience & the ability to travel to support projects as required is essential.

In addition, candidates should be self-motivated and have:
• Outstanding planning and problem solving skills. Able to make effective decisions within tight timescales.
• Capability of working on their own initiative with minimum supervision
• Sound interpersonal skills: Good team player able to build productive working relationships
• Proven written & verbal communication at all levels within the organisation
