The Company:
Is a leading Automotive manufacturer with a reputation for outstanding quality the world over. With demand increasing and an upturn in production, there is a need to bring further skills into the business to deliver on current and future projects.

The Role:
This is a technical role within Paint.
Responsible for Paint yield and adherence to programme
Responsible for the ongoing development and maintenance of paint robot programmes to maintain quality, capacity and adherence to paint colours standards.
Liaise with other functions to develop new products in terms of paint
Support CIP and Quality activities within the function and across the business.
Ensure the Paint robot cells are operated to methods and practices that will ensure safe and efficient running and to an extremely high cleanliness standard.


Process Documentation
Responsible for the maintenance of all process documentation (APQP) within their zone
Ensure that the production systems and processes are implemented to ensure both internal and external audit compliance.
Responsible for developing the settings/parameters of equipment and process
Responsible for implementing engineering change introduction within the cell
Management of permits and concessions

Process Improvements

Lead cost saving activities to reduce operating expense.
Responsible for the analysis of specific technology measurements and controls.
Maintaining Key Performance Metrics and coordinate activities to resolve concerns and issues affecting achievement of technology targets


Support the delivery of the project gateways in accordance with PEP for Production from VFF up to SOP.
Work in conjunction with Engineering to deliver bespoke vehicle production via the technology.
Support Pre-Series and Production Planning in the development of new colour pallets, products and processes.


Responsible for ensuring that all new materials and processes have been assessed against our health and safety policies
Responsible for self-development in line with job requirements


Lead the resolution of technology quality issues using the appropriate problem solving techniques and resources.
Accountable for zone specific quality deliverables including Audit, Right First Time (RFT) and Defects Per Vehicle (DPV).
Support Quality in problem resolution and audit prognosis.


Proven track record in the development of robot programmes for DURR and ABB machinery.
Demonstrable experience of painting cars or similar
Good working knowledge of CIP. Problem solving and experience of methodologies including Health & Safety.
Is able to provide technical support to the production teams.
Demonstrates good communication skills at all levels
Background in Maintenance and or paint application


Technically competent in product manufacturing processes, Group and business processes, process design and standardised work.
Experience in the practical application of Continuous Improvement tools and techniques.
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and measurement data.
Knowledge of key Health & Safety regulations.
Ability to communicate at all levels within the organisation.
Ability to be involved in cross functional teams and projects to achieve business improvement.
Knowledge of the Product Emergence Process and gateway deliverables.


Higher National Qualification with relevant and demonstrable manufacturing experience,
