The Role:
The purpose of this job is to identify, catalogue and add to the Maintenance, Repair, and Operating (MRO) materials catalog all spare parts, repair/return and other materials, in order to effectively order and maintain these parts, allow the items to be found when needed and allow for more seamless procurement or warehouse replenishment.

1. Review parts coding requests in order to ensure accuracy and completeness.
2. Check existing catalogue records in order to ensure the requested new item has not already been coded.
3. Analyse new materials request forms in order to create parts description and details.
4. Assign applicable SAP codes and materials descriptions based on SADARA class dictionary and the criteria in use for which the requested item is destined.
5. Enter new items in templates for upload in SAP materials management system, completing all required catalogue information in for creating new materials.
6. Use applicable SAP programs to update existing MRO materials individually or via mass maintenance.
7. Communicate new catalogue items, or existing ones, depending on whether the items were existent, back to the requestor, and document cataloguing actions.
8. Serve as the SME for parts cataloguing and classification.
9. Assist in providing training and resources to others in SADARA on parts cataloguing process and requirements.
10. Participate in systems support functions: i.e. changes to programs, functionality and testing.
11. Recommend improvements in the MRO cataloguing work process and standards and assists in plant teams in order to coordinate and develop material cataloguing solutions that meet objectives of common codes and work processes.
12. Perform any job-related activities as requested by the immediate supervisor/manager.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
• Degree in a technology
• Experience in a Part Coding Tech role, or related experience is required. (IT and Inventory experience required w/ some craft experience preferred).
• Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of MRO Coding Process, Maintenance Work Process, IT Technology, Parts lists, approved manufacturers/suppliers list, Quality control requirements, and Standardization process.
• Highly proficient in material coding programs.
• Demonstrated high proficiency in computer systems.
