The Company:
A luxury Automotive OEM based in the West Midlands. After continued growth & success there are a number of new exciting engineering projects underway and we currently have requirements for experienced engineering professionals.

The Role:
To procure service and replacement parts for current and non-current models at the most advantageous costs, consistent with the Company’s requirements in quality, service and business practice, and in support of the requirements of customers and the dealer network.

Key Responsibilities & Tasks
Decides those companies to whom enquires will be sent, secures and analyses quotations from potential supply sources.
Negotiates prices and terms, arranging for timely procurement and sample testing at maximum economic benefit to the Company, consistent with capacity, reliability and quality.
Commits the Company, without reference, within specified limits of authority by issuing orders or negotiating contracts.
Conducts re-sourcing exercises whilst maintaining continuity of supply to meet requirements in the event of non-acceptable price, service or quality performance.
Interviews and confers with current and prospective suppliers, to determine manufacturing capacity and capabilities.
Negotiate “all-time-buys” where necessary, establishes repair and recondition services for parts .
Advises relevant functions of potentially suitable new products, processes or materials and arranges for an appropriate validation testing.
By mutual research, encouragement and negotiation with suppliers, implements plans to improve quality standards, delivery performance, technical services and price levels.
Accepts responsibility for obtaining materials, assisting with the resolution of supply problems, by direct personal contact with top supplier management, and assisting suppliers in the procurement of scarce material resources/services.
Contributes in conjunction with specialist functions, in solving design, quality and costing problems.
Certifies invoices and clears price queries in a timely manner as occasion demands.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Full Driving license essential.
Education to Degree level or equivalent.
Previous experience in a Purchasing role.
