The Company:
Fircroft Group in Canada has two revenue generating offices. One in Calgary and one in St. John's Newfoundland. We require expertise to pay roll across Canada.

The Role:
Primary Duties:
Ensures the accounting records are kept according to local Canadian laws and accounting regulations. As well liaises and interacts with foreign BUC offices and protects BUC commercial interests.
1. Verifies data, enters data, reconciles, and disperses:
a) BUC Staff payroll and audits employee expense reports
b) Contractor payroll and audits contractor reimbursable expense
c) BUC accounts receivables including Inter-Company accounting
d) BUC accounts payables including Inter-company accounting
2. Reconciles BUC bank accounts to QuickBooks Pro Accounts.
3. Creates and reconciles Monthly (IR) and quarterly (LEQ) financial reports according to deadlines set out in January.
4. Prepares yearend financial statements for outside CGA reading.
5. Budgets: per Manager's operational goals and forecasts, prepares quarterly and annual budgets, including monthly cash flow reports, cash management, and credit requests in advance.
6. Monitors monthly expenditures against budget and proposes remedies to operational short falls
7. Banking: Monitors cash in bank to ensure payroll deadlines are met and receivables are paid without delay for credit reference building. Monitors and reports on all cash currencies payables to ensure exchange or minimize stop loses.
8. Advises contractors on payroll, HST/GST, WCB, and other employment burden deductions, etc. Liaise with contractors regarding payroll concerns or discrepancies. Monitors employment timesheets and expenses for client agreement accuracy
9. Creates, reconciles and distributes Receiver General Payments, GST payments, other Federal and Provincial business taxes, as well as prepares T4 and ROE documents.
10. Additional assignment: In November 2011, the Accountant will oversee the implementation of the Replicon Electronic Time Sheet conversion project, ensuring Client satisfaction and compatibility with existing accounting systems. Weekly reports on Replicon implementation will be delivered to the Manager/Director of Fircroft Canada.
11. Confidential privilege and due diligence to be delivered in a spirit of a Corporate professional representing Fircroft and Fircroft's best interests.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Books to trial balance is essential and must be a resident of Calgary Alberta.

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
• 4 years experience in large temporary employment pay roll delivery and book keeping duties
• Good computer skills including solid knowledge of QuickBooks products, Excel and Microsoft office software competence.
• Post-secondary training in accounting practices
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Excellent time management
• Goal oriented with a plan to advance their career.
• A passion for new technology, flexible and adaptable to new technology.
