ob Title: Performance Services Engineer

Role Synopsis:
•Perform as main technical contact for day-to-day wind turbine performance within Operations group providing support to Field Sites and Asset Management team
•Understand performance issues, quantify the impact and support the sites with the development of priorities, based on key factors, including safety and revenue metrics
•Support Operations and Asset Management by identifying and evaluating new opportunities to improve turbine performance and reliability
•Support operational sites through providing technical solutions to technical problems

Key Accountabilities:
•Understand performance issues, quantify the impact and support the sites with the development of priorities, based on key factors, including safety and revenue metrics
•Operate as an independent investigator to determine data quality of existing data streams and historical data; influence key stakeholders to ensure required changes are made to produce quality information
•Lead effort to create and fine-tune a monthly efficiency report regarding fleet performance; which includes, interviewing stakeholders, drafting sample reports, gathering feedback and providing relevant information, that support the continuous performance improvement efforts
•Manage/Lead a performance evaluation campaign using current fleet of remote sensing equipment. This includes financial analysis to support budget approval as well as (post-approval) full project management responsibility including budget, timeline and delivery responsibilities
•Lead effort to develop, scope, implement and test applications to aid in performance tracking and analysis. Conduct in-depth business needs analysis, aligning project scopes to meet business needs and complete project management responsibilities including budget approval, overall budget, timeline and delivery.
•Support Asset Managers & PSCM in technical negotiations (e.g. defining appropriate criteria and level for performance guarantees and tender evaluation)
•Monitor facility operating data/statistics as compared to expected performance and identify positive/negative operational trends. Define benchmarks and measures to improve equipment performance.
•Support Asset Management team by providing wind speed and energy analysis for budget reconciliation, explanation of wind behavior, forecasting and compliance-related tasks
•Represent Performance Services while performing field work and inspections (when required)
•Monitor and review turbine-related risks; including understanding the current and new risk, ensuring required mitigation plans are in place and being executed, in addition to scheduling and facilitation of quarterly departmental risk review sessions

Required Qualifications:
•Seven years of practical experience with data from operational turbines (wind, gas, steam, etc); preference for performance-related data
•Advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Office (especially Excel)
•Significant team experience, ideally in dynamic environments creating new ways of identifying problems and implementing solutions
•Ability to work with diverse teams in both office and field operation environments and ability to actively engage with business unit leadership
•Legal authorization to work in the US on a full-time basis for anyone other than current employer

Preferred Qualifications:
In addition to the required qualifications the successful candidate is likely to be able to demonstrate:

•Preference for wind industry experience
•Master’s degree
•PMP certification or related project management experience
•Experience working with software architects/designers to create custom applications
Education Required:
•Engineering or Meteorology/Atmospheric Science degree

Education Preferred:
•Master’s degree preferred
