The Company:
Our Client specialises in the design and manufacture of Formula 1 racing engines and hybrid power systems.

The Role:
Our client is looking for a skilled Simulation Engineer to join Performance Development department within their Automotive Division.

Role Purpose

You will be responsible for developing, implementing and analysing innovative powertrain control strategies and simulation tools of hybrid and road vehicles. You will also be responsible for the data analysis and reporting of results and conclusions to the customer.

Role Specific Accountabilities

*Delivering world class solutions of the highest quality in order to meet project targets

*Development of in-house simulation and analysis tools

*Working closely with the Project Customer Engineers

*Communications of technical solutions to the customer

*Championing best practice and technically challenging development of processes

*Building working relationships with internal and external departments

*Day to day management of their tasks

*Adherence to Company Policy, Procedure and UK Legislation

*Health and safety of his or herself within the work environment and giving guidance to others

Essential Skills / Qualifications:

*Strong analytical skills and reasoning through first principals

*Expert knowledge of simulation tools/software, including MATLAB and Simulink

*Proven detailed understanding of internal combustion engines, turbo charging and hybrid systems

*PC literate, including MS Office Products


*Experience in developing control strategies for hybrid powertrain systems

*Experience in developing software for automotive applications

*Experience of hybrid system development/implementation



*BEng/BSc qualified (2:1 minimum) in Degree level or higher in a engineering related discipline.


*Post Graduate Degree (MSc/Phd) in a relevant Subject.

*Be creative, innovative and inquisitive

*Have close attention to detail, and be driven to deliver engineering solutions of the highes
