The Company:
Our Client is an International Oil and Gas Operator involved in 2 of Australia's largest LNG Projects based in Western Australia. The Role:
A new opportunity has arisen on a 12 month contract for a Simultaneous Construction (SIMCON) and SIMOPS Coordinator based on Barrow Island on a 28/28 rotation.

• Develop the construction SIMOPS / SIMCON procedure & execution plan, ensuring that it is aligned with the Operations model.
• Ensure implementation of the SIMOPS / SIMCON plan for construction areas
Interface with parties executing work in the assigned area to ensure work involving SIMOPS / SIMCON is consistently identified, assessed and mitigated to allow safe and efficient execution of tasks
• Verify risk mitigation controls are adequate
• Provide support in the deployment and monitoring of SIMOPS / SIMCON controls
• Action new SIMOPS / SIMCON risks in cooperation with executing parties and the contractor SIMOPS / SIMCON management team
• Carry out regular audits to verify that SIMOPS / SIMCON processes are in place, being followed and are effective
• Communicate with and advise APM’s and ACM’s on SIMOPS / SIMCON issues
• Participate in permit to work meetings, construction, commissioning. (Operations when required.)
• Ensure compliance with federal, state and local regulatory bodies including environmental, health and safety
• Ensure Legislative Compliance, OH&S and Environmental.
• Ensure legislation changes are reviewed and incorporated effectively. Assist management to educate employees and contractors on their obligations under legislation and SIMOPS / SIMCON processes
• Ensure all required audits and inspections are carried out and reported in the timely manner, across the project, internal and external
• Set the stage for "Incident Free" performance through visible commitment, uncompromising support and safe behaviour.
• Carry out training to project personnel on SIMOPS / SIMCON processes & objectives

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
• Significant experience in oil and gas or a complex process industry
• Demonstrated experience in a similar role, managing high complexity SIMOPS / SIMCON activities throughout the construction, commissioning and start-up phases
• Strong interpersonal, communication and leadership skills, with experience supervising with a large contractor workforce
• Advanced ability to lead and influence contractors, given the majority of the work is high risk activities
• Flexible and adaptable with the ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced demanding environment
• Demonstrated commitment to values of integrity, partnership and trust and achieving an incident and injury free workplace.
• Work autonomously in a dynamic high risk environment.
• Thorough inspection & incident investigation skills
• Presentation skills - by showing professional written and verbal presentation skills in all stakeholder dealings.
• Be able to negotiate successfully and professionally

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
• Diploma of Work Health and Safety (WHS) or associated qualifications. (As a minimum)
• Lead Auditor in WHS Management Systems (preferred)
• Minimum 10 + years Construction and Process Safety Experience
• Risk Management Qualifications
• Certificate IV in Training & Assessment (TAE40110)
• Maritime Security Identification Card (MSIC) (preferred)
• Trade background (preferred, not essential.)
• White Card
• TLIC1051A - Operate Commercial Vehicle (preferred, not essential.)
• Apply OHS Requirements, Policies & Procedures in the Construction Industry –
• CPCCOHS2001A or equivalent
• Work in Accordance with an Issued Permit - MSAPMPER200C or equivalent (shows prior PTW exposure/understanding)
• Enter Confined Space or equivalent
• Work Safely at Heights
• Gas Testing
