The Company:
Our client, a major owner/operating company, requires expertise for their LNG mega-project in Western Canada.

This position is open to Canadian Citizens and Permanent Residents only.

The Role:
As a Permitting / Environmental Specialist you will have the following responsibility:

• Provide effective safety and environmental protection leadership throughout all aspects of the performance of the assigned responsibilities; role model IIF/IFO behaviors with a demonstrated commitment to the CARE program.
• Support Permitting Coordinator by following permitting procedure to plan, prepare and submit permit applications to regulatory agencies. This involves working with our team to understand permit inputs, include all internal and external stakeholders, and hold regular meetings for updates to track permit deliverables. Ability to take direction and execute, and be adaptable and flexible due to shifting timelines and deliverable priorities.
• Help manage permit register for tracking and reporting permit status and schedule.
• Work with Permitting Coordinator to prioritize and respond to requests for information from internal stakeholders, EPC contractor and others.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
As a Permitting / Environmental Specialist you will have experience:
• Must have BC permitting regulation experience with proven experience of working with the Oil and Gas Commission and the FAO
• Minimum of 5 years relevant, practical working experience in development and implementation of Project Permitting Plans and understanding permitting regimes. - Demonstrated ability to manage multiple high priority tasks concurrently. Ability to work in high pressure environment while meeting tight strategic milestones. - Strong organisational, interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills are essential.
• Practical working knowledge of relevant Federal (Canada) and Provincial (British Columbia) legislation. Working experience on a major capital project with direct interface with EPC desirable. - Commitment to support an IIF/IFO culture.
