The Role:
Key accountabilities:
The Petro-technical Coach (Subsurface and Wells) is recruited to provide technical support for the trainees during their self-study periods and to supervise the groups during the integrated case study in Module 3 of the PREP programme. Petro-technical Coach (Subsurface and Wells) responsible for supervising the Subsurface and Wells groups will require the expertise to support the following subjects:
• Petroleum Geoscience
• Reservoir Engineering
• Drilling Engineering
• Production Technology
Key Responsibilities:
Reporting to the Academic co-ordinators in Heriot-Watt University and PREP Manager the successful applicant will have the following responsibilities:
• Provide coaching to PREP trainees whilst undertaking self-study on the courses delivered during Module 3 of the PREP programme.
• Set milestones and supervise the progress of the Trainees in the integrated case studies
• Provide technical support to the PREP trainees in the area of expertise (Subsurface and Wells) during the integrated case study.
• Assist the trainees in the production of the project report
• Assist the trainees in preparation of the group presentation.
• Assist trainees to fill in their gaps in soft-skills
• Support BP’s joint initiatives with other relevant educational institutions, in terms of training and development, including Baku Higher Oil School
Competencies:
• The technical knowledge and skills required to deliver the Module 3 courses and the integrated case study in English.
• Good communication skills, including the ability to communicate both professionally and effectively with trainees and staff
• Good organisational skills including the ability to organise and manage large volumes of information
• Good time management skills
• Competent in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Microsoft Outlook Ability to deal with large databases

Education:
Postgraduate (PG) Degree in Petroleum Engineering or other related discipline;
