Safety
• Promote a strong safety culture in line with Company Global and Company Alaska’s stated safety objectives; aim for no incidents in area of influence.
• Recognize the health, safety and environmental impact of all work; communicate as appropriate to possible stakeholders
o Ensure all wellwork programs evaluated for potential hazards during job and flowback (eg: erosion, chemicals)
o All unusual wellwork or high risk wellwork discussed with Operations & Alaska Drilling & Wells (ADW) group prior to job
Technical
• Maximize utilization of area wellstock and production/ injection systems to deliver production targets. Understand well set’s technical production forecast and well set’s contribution to production targets
o Perform artificial lift, well, and pad/drill site optimization
o Deeply understand well operating performance; maintain well performance models (e.g. Prosper), and support surface system understanding (e.g. GAP)
• Execute and analyze all surveillance in compliance with the surveillance plan and state requirements. Communicate outcomes to appropriate other teams (Reservoir Mgmt, New Wells, ADW, Operations)
• Understand and minimize reservoir & wells related production and injection impacts in line with Production Impacts Reporting protocols including production impacts from shut in wells, pressure restrictions and bottlenecks
o Understand reservoir production impacts from non-optimal injection, conformance issues, etc.
• Ensure reservoir decline, area Voidage Replacement Ratio, Gas Oil Ratio, and reservoir pressures maintained consistent with depletion plan & strategy
• Communicate with the optimization team to ensure the well set is optimized
• Shape and deliver expense & small capital (non-drilling) rate adding activity
o Populate the rate adding hopper with options and understand basis of prioritization
o Generate robust cost estimates for well intervention options
o Perform well integrity surveillance, diagnostics, and repair
o Deliver non-rig wellwork procedures – both written by the PE and by well intervention engineers to progress well action items
o Prepare RWO packages, and attend RWO rig calls
• Perform routine well ownership requirements
o Drive consistent approaches to base management across Alaska
o Quality control all well information including well tests, well events, production/ injection rates and well trends
o Prepare for and lead discussions in well reviews
o Maintain current well information in the Digital Wellfile program and ensure the proper databases are updated for perfs, logs, etc
o Review and provide quality control for the wellwork tracking system (WETS) data
o Ensure regular lab sampling requests are correct, including metering samples, Miscible Injectant (MI) response analysis, etc
o Perform monthly well allocations, Long Term Shut In list updates, and other required periodic duties
• Integrate with Reservoir Management and New Well Delivery teams
o Understand the depletion mechanism and provide PE input to pattern performance, waterflood targets, MI plans, and other reservoir management issues as appropriate
o Maintain hopper of parent wells for sidetrack and lateral addition options and provide this parent well information to help progress rig options
o Contribute to subsurface target ideas
o Provide consultation, as requested, on new well and sidetrack completion and perforation decisions. (New Well Delivery PE will attend rig calls and make PE decisions. New Well Delivery Operations SPOC, usually the New Well Delivery Geologist, will communicate with the rig on final completion and perforation decisions.)
• Integrate with Operations
o Understand the surface facility equipment. Work with various operations and projects groups to progress any facility projects which affect the well set including well tie-ins, debottlenecking, corrosion repairs, well meter repairs, etc.
o Communicate with pad operator to ensure the well set is optimized
o Understand metering equipment and any issues, perform density updates or other metering inputs as required, and lobby for metering improvements where needed
o Attend and participate in regular video conferences with operations
