The Company:
Our client is an expanding oil and gas consultancy office with complete technical expertise in petroleum/reservoir engineering, well engineering, production technology, seismic interpretation, exploration/development geology and field development planning related to oil and gas operations with offices in The Hague, Abuja (Nigeria) and Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia). Projects vary from field development planning, asset evaluation, competent person audits, E.O.R. projects, CO2-sequestration, “Tight Gas”

The Role:
Client also provides a full range of petrophysical services. Technical support varies from short single well evaluations to fully integrated multi-well petrophysical studies, data room evaluations and equity re/determinations. Petrophysical support is either provided to clients directly or in the form of petrophysical studies in support of multi-disciplinary studies. Clients petrophysicists are frequently involved in exploration as well as development projects and are expected to have strong experience in a wide range of geological settings, including deepwater turbidites, tight formations, shale gas, and lithologies like clastics, (fractured) carbonates and chalks.

As a petrophysicist you should have at least 5 years of relevant experience, preferably gained with an operator (or logging service provider). You should have good analytical skills, with proven, up-to-date hands-on petrophysical evaluation experience. A good understanding of integration with other subsurface disciplines is desirable. You should be a motivated self-starter in addition to possessing good written and verbal communication skills.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
• Solid background in petrophysics, log evaluation principles and methods, including experience in some of the following areas: permeability-prediction, borehole image interpretation, sedimentology or reservoir geology in general, user-programming, saturation/height modeling, review and quality control of SCAL data, integration of formation pressure data in formation evaluation, and cased hole interpretation.
• Operational experience as a well-site geologist, petroleum engineer or logging engineer is preferable.
• Functional understanding of geology, geophysics, reservoir engineering and reservoir characterization issues and how they relate to reservoir performance and development planning.
• Hands-on experience with Interactive Petrophysics, Geolog, Techlog or PowerLog is desirable.
