The Company:
Our major Oil & Gas Client is in need of 2-4 Pilot Plant Technicians in Houston, Texas.

The Role:
Innovation Research & Development – Downstream Process Development
Ideal Qualifications for Pilot Plant Technician

Must Haves
• Willingness to work in shifts for extended periods.

• Preference: Associates degree in chemical/environmental technology, mechanical technology, process technology, manufacturing technology, or petrochemical process technology.
• Second Choice: Bachelor’s degree in chemistry or biology; however, candidate must have aptitude for mechanical systems.
• Third Choice: High school diploma with STRONG work experience.

Work Experience
• Preference: Five-to-ten years of pilot plant design, construction, and operating experience. Minimal number of career moves (not interested in job-hoppers).
• Second Choice: Bench-scale R&D work in a lab setting, excluding analytical chemistry.
• Third Choice: Piping/tubing, mechanical, and/or control systems experience at an R&D facility.
• Fourth Choice: An outstanding new graduate with no operating experience.

Desired Technical Competencies
• Working with unit operations (pumps, compressors, reactors, exchangers, columns, storage vessels, etc.)
• Working with Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs)
• Operation of Process control systems (Distributed Control Systems and Programmable Logic Controllers)
• Operation of Safety Instrumented Systems
• Working with piping, tubing, and fittings
• Working with instrumentation (temperature, pressure, flow, and level transmitters, solenoid valves, etc.)
• Working with utility systems (steam, water, air, nitrogen)
