The Role:
Function:
To undertake welding and jointing of ferrous and non-ferrous materials. Site based work.

Welder Codings Required

ASME 1X
2” C/S Tig
2” S/S Tig
6” C/S Tig Root / MMA (stick) Fill and Cap

Responsibilities:
• Adherence to Company Policy, procedures.
• Quality, safety, health and environmental awareness (e.g. responsible for own and others safety}.
• To perform tasks which may be requested by Management.
• Individual risk awareness within job role.
• Be responsible for general good housekeeping and safe working practices in the workshop and on facility.
• The interpretation of fabrication drawings, weld procedure documentation and weld Inspection procedures.
• Check that the drawing details, weld procedures and preparations match and are in accordance with the job specification.
• To perform any weld tests as required by the Contract.
• Check that the allocated welding equipment has a current validation certificate and meets the requirements of the proposed weld procedure.
• Ensure that the welding consumables are in accordance with the welding procedure, have been stored correctly and are maintained as required during fabrication.
• Carry out the welding operation in accordance with the correct weld procedure and current work instructions.
• Liaise with inspectors as required.
• To be responsible for their individual quality, health and safety as well as their colleagues. Welders will, when required attend courses to maintain competence in line with new standards and techniques.
• Assist in the training of apprentices, students and new employees.
• Be responsible for general good house-keeping and safe working practices in the workshop and on site.
• Be responsible for the accuracy and content of their own work.
• Cable Management and housekeeping.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
• Previous welding experience and an ability to perform a successful 6G welding test.
• Essential to hold current CCNSG Site Safety Passport
• Communicate in a positive manner with shop floor personnel and discipline Supervisor.
• Completed a recognised training programme e.g. Time-Served Apprenticeship.
• Computer literate.
