The Company:
Our client are specialist Pipe Fabrication Contractors supplying the offshore & oil and gas industry worldwide. At present they have a number of major pipework contracts for major offshore construction companies and are offering long term work for highly skilled, multi-coded TIG Welders.

The Role:
Fircroft are recruiting Coded TIG Duplex welders to work in a busy fabrication facility in Teesside.
Current Welding Certs are essential. You must be coded in GTAW (141) duplex pipe. In addition, 2” Stainless & Carbon Steel Certs are an advantage. Applicants must have vast welding experience in an oil & gas environment, preferably welding pipe for the offshore industry.
You will be expected to have a flexible, positive attitude towards any work you are asked to carryout at all times. Our client will ask on occasion to assist with other duties as well as Welding such as assisting/supporting other tradesmen, distribution of materials, grinding, cleaning and general duties as required.
Our clients takes Health and Safety very seriously, therefore you must have a pro active attitude to all aspects of Health & Safety. You will be expected to report any health & safety issues to your supervisor immediately proactively support H & S requirements of the client.
Responsibilities
• The interpretation of fabrication drawings weld procedure documentation and weld inspection procedures
• Ensure that the welding consumables are in accordance with the welding procedures have been stored correctly and are maintained as required during fabrication.
• Carry out the welding operation in accordance with the correct weld procedure and current work instructions.
• Liaise with inspectors as required
• Be responsible for the accuracy and content of their own work
• Quality safety health and environmental awareness (e.g. responsible for own and others safety
• Be responsible for general good house keeping and safe working practices in the workshop and on facility.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Coded welding Certification and experience to ensure a proven ability to perform a successful ASME IX production welding test.
• Experience within Oil & Gas or construction with Arc Air Gouging experience.
• An understanding of company quality, safety, health & environmental systems & programmes
• Communicate in a positive manner with shop floor personnel and discipline supervisor.
• Completed a recognised training programme e.g. time served apprenticeship
