The Company:
POSITION TITLE : Pipelines Marine and Subsea Construction Engineer
POSITION REPORTS TO: Pipelines Construction Team Lead
WORK LOCATION: Baku, Azerbaijan
WORK SCHEDULE: 5x3 Rotation

The Role:
The Pipelines Construction Engineer will support management of the offshore pipeline installation including the landfall works, near shore trenching and pipe-lay operations.


As a member of the M&SS Pipelines Project Management Team (PMT) the Construction Engineer will have the following responsibilities:

• Implementing safe and efficient execution of project scopes
• Awareness and promotion of project goals in respect of HSE, cost, schedule & technical integrity
• Direction, motivation, support and leadership to project team members and contractors.
• Awareness and promotion of GPO expectations of Safe Design and Quality Build and conformance to the GPO Operating Management System (OMS) requirements including risk management, continuous improvement and management of change.
• Promoting an effective and collaborative working environment with a ‘One Team’ approach.
• Ensuring lessons learned are captured and shared with the onshore management team
• Providing exemplary leadership to contractors and vendors to facilitate successful scope delivery,
• Will be delegation of authority for Construction Team Lead as and when required.

Offshore Pipelines Construction Management
The Pipelines Construction Engineer will support the Construction Team Lead in the management of:

• Execution of the landfall works, near-shore trenching and pipe-lay
• Vessel operations to complete the offshore execution
• Assuring vessel(s) capability to complete the offshore works and manage vessel readiness
• The Company representatives on the offshore vessels (CVRs) and at the landfall
• Providing support to the M&SS PMs in the execution of the vessel upgrades
• Communication with the offshore vessel team and the marine operations team to ensure rigorous tracking of safety performance, schedule progress and SIMOPS planning.
• Providing support to the Pipelines Project Manager to deliver safe efficient execution of the offshore activities
• The execution schedule for the landfall and pipe-lay activities and support the integrated marine schedule
• Ensuring construction and site management processes are in place
• Working closely with the appropriate project teams to resolve conflicts in the overall interest of the project delivery

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
• Engineering degree and professional status accreditation with a recognised institution.
• A minimum of 5years experience of general offshore construction and subsea pipeline installation
• Proven experience of pipe-lay barge operations
• Experience with site management activities related to health, safety, and environmental issues
