The Company:
Fircroft are currently working with an independent operator based in the South East of England. The client is offering an exciting opportunity to join their Integrity & Fabric maintenance team based in one of their UK offices.

The Role:
Job Purpose:
• To manage pipeline integrity for the full pipeline network from and to all sites within pipeline limits as described in Pipeline Safety Regulations.

Key Challenges:
• To ensure that the Assets requirements for fluid handling and future integrity management needs to end of field life are met by the effective application of maintenance monitoring testing, assessment and reporting processes

Key Accountabilities:
• Accountable to the Integrity Manager as Technical Authority for delivery of integrity and operability of the entire pipeline network
• Provision of an annual pipeline integrity summary including 3rd party activities, providing an overall fitness for service statement
• Ownership, review, development and update of Pipeline Integrity Management System -demonstrating a measurable drive for continuous improvement as part of the wider integrity management philosophy.
• Immediate recognition of defects & anomalies which represent a serious threat to safety/integrity & timely/appropriate communication, notification and advice to line management & operations staff.
• Compliance (HSE) - Ensure regulatory compliance assurance and communicate with the external HSE and internally with HSE Dept. Required deliverables include attendance at required meetings and reviews and ensuring the operation remains in compliance with COMAH Report and other legal requirements, maintaining good relations with external agencies
• Management of change (eMOC) - With a good understanding of the management of change process and based on operational experience, execute technical reviews of modifications. This requires judgment to ensure asset integrity is maintained
• Risk Management – Understand operational risk to ensure that client is not taking inappropriate risks in executing their work. This requires a good knowledge of HSE acceptable standards and risk management tools
• Provide technical input for facilities issues
• Regulatory – participate in HSE Pipeline Inspectorate liaison for technical discussion, audits and any consents and licenses for new and existing facilities.
• Continual development of risk based inspection strategies, management of inspection cycle activities from scope agreement, technique selection, supplier selection, contract strategy, safety reviews, mobilisation, data acquisition monitoring & receipt & distribution of deliverables.
• Review of pipeline inspection & maintenance strategies regularly in terms of alignment with field life expectations.
• Manage and review the approval of external studies by specialist contractors
• Manage the work of outsourced pipeline engineers on behalf of client, as required.
• Manage costs by controlling spending and promoting a challenging cost culture to ensure we get value from suppliers and contractors.
• Management of key contractors activities, check and review work-scopes and final reports.
• Ad-hoc engineering – undertake engineering assessments, calculations and models on emergent issues, due diligence or similar activities as required
• Lead, on request, a full root cause analysis team or potential incident / near miss investigations.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
• Qualified to Chartered Engineer level or working towards Chartership.
• 5 years experience in energy related industry, with preferably 2-3 years direct involvement in pipeline inspection, integrity management, construction and/or repair and maintenance.
• Contractual experience from scoping, safety reviews, mobilisation & performance management are also preferable.
• Pro-active, hands on and innovative approach to problem solving and good interpersonal and communication skills.
