The Company:
A global Oil & Gas operator with extensive operations in the Caspian Region.

The Role:

• Interface with the contractor pipeline engineering group & contractor speciality groups to coordinate their at site support responsibilities
• Ensure works are undertaken in accordance with contract engineering requirements, per the agreed plans, procedures and specifications
• Ensure efficient operation of the Site Engineering Query system; provide interpretation of design to contractor. Review and transmit queries to Lead Pipeline Engineer in country with proposed solutions where appropriate. Coordinate timely responses within Company engineering team and respond to Contractor
• Participate working with the contractor during the constructability & readiness phase with recommendations and the construction principles to be applied in the field
• Participate in the responsibilities for assuring field HSSE & quality requirements
• Coordination of responsibilities for field engineering, construction & procurement
• Coordinate interface between project and operations for brown field activities


The position requires extensive previous experience on pipeline projects involving major large diameter linepipe installations with the ability to support & coordinate the engineering aspects of the ongoing site work.

Responsibilities Include:

• Assist and support the Project Construction Manager to achieve his contract objectives
• Promote the Quality Policy & Objectives and ensure compliance to EP-GP-50-10-1 Quality Management in Major Projects
• Demonstrate HSE participation by actively engaging the Company site team and construction contractors with actions that contribute to delivering on Company’s HSE expectations
• Review, endorse, and monitor Contractor’s Plans, procedures and Method Statements and ensure the requirements of associated Inspection & Test Plans are adhered to.
• Participate in the weekly construction progress and activity planning meetings with the PMT team, PL contractors and Operations.
• Participate in Contractor’s Audits.
• Skilled in contractor interfacing on engineering technical & contractual issues
• Undertake surveillance of the Contractor’s activities.
• Receive and review site engineering queries. Resolve with contractor where no design change required
• Ensure that Site Engineering meetings are held and Project engineering requirements are fully undertaken.
• Participate in the decision process relating to the disposition of deviations and concessions to specification and codes requested by contractor.
• Ensure the Contractor’s competency assessment process is rigorously implemented.
• Interface with Handover and Commissioning Teams to ensure thorough punch out of systems, punch list tracking, and verification of handover quality documentation.
• Complete special assignments outside of engineering area as requested by Project Pipeline Construction Manager

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
• University Degree or equivalent in Mechanical or related Engineering subject
• Minimum of 10 years of engineering & pipeline installation experience in Oil & Gas construction
• Minimum of 10 years’ experience involving the process for installing cross country large bore linepipe
• Experience & knowledge involving the installation of linepipe crossings by the Horizontal Direction Drill and Tunnel Boring Machine methods
• Experience involving the installation of International pipeline projects
• Ability to provide technical support & assurance of applicable linepipe installation standards
• Ability to perform effectively in a team environment, inclusive of demonstrating collaborative, cooperative, flexible, adaptable, respectful, and tactful personal characteristics
• Familiarity with International Standards which form the basis for project pipeline specifications
• Confident and energetic approach to addressing all technical issues
• Good inter-personal skills & being a tea
