The Company:
A global Oil & Gas operator with extensive operations in the Caspian Region.

The Role:
POSITION REPORTS TO: Onshore terminal Construction Lead
DELIVERY TEAM : Onshore Facilities/Onshore Baku Delivery
WORK LOCATION: Baku, Azerbaijan
WORK SCHEDULE: 6x2 Rotational

KEY ROLE

• Control of all construction works / activities within Pipelines area of the new terminal
• Oversee the management of the terminal construction works through the main terminal contractor(MTC) in the Pipelines area
• Compile assurance reports on progress, safety, quality and cost throughout the project stages.
• Provide discipline specific support and construction input for the preparation of the Onshore Terminal technical documentation, (risks, lessons learned, constructability, etc)

RESPONSIBILITIES & OBJECTIVES:

• Promoting project HSE objectives.
• Participate in the Onshore and Offshore team Risk Management Process
• Participate in task risk assessment meetings.
• Lead area construction team in all aspects of the construction of the terminal project, including HSE, Quality, schedule and cost related issues in the Pipelines area
• Ensure the construction effort is being applied in accordance with Project schedule, budgets and all Company OMS requirements in the Pipelines area
• Monitor contractor performance and highlight any concerns to line manager.
• Review of KBR AFC design documents in the pipelines area
• Assist in the Construction team Lessons Learned Process
• Providing engineering assistance to the construction contractor for resolution of issues, (engineering, schedule, quality)
• Review and approval of procedures as necessary.
• Expediting site query response from KBR, where applicable
• Witnessing and approving site acceptance tests, and promote quality build approach.
• Review and acceptance of contractor procedures for fabrication, assembly and erection of the Terminal facilities
• Attending / holding project meetings as required.
• Compilation of reports as required.
• Encourage development of Azeri National personnel
• Provide advice, coaching and training Azeri National personnel
• Assist PSCM in the process of procuring packages as required, throughout the supply chain, through to commissioning
• Mentor and assist in training of junior staff as required

BASIC SKILLS:
• Understanding of current safety legislation (BS / EN / OSHA).
• Keen awareness of management of behavioural based site safety programmes
• Understanding of all construction engineering disciplines, particularly in the onshore Oil and Gas related fields.
• Understand how to read relevant engineering drawings , specifications, codes
• Ability to understand logic linked schedules (P3 / P6 or similar).
• Ability to communicate effectively with contractor’s/line managers/ and supervision in English language (oral and written).
• Knowledge and understanding of management operating systems
• Good IT skills, (understanding of MS office, etc)

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
TECHNICAL QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum: HNC / HND or equivalent in engineering discipline plus Registered incorporated engineer

•Track record of experience gained in similar oil and gas / pipelines related international projects, in a similar role leading to development of the following skill sets:

Leading teams of construction personnel in a professional manner through all of the main aspects of a project (planning, organisation, motivational, control systems)
Coordinate planning activities on a daily / weekly basis and linking into schedule
Organising resources into work groups suitable to oversee the timely completion of the construction activities.
Coordinating resolution of technical issues at site level and liaising with engineering
Employing motivational techniques to enhance performance from employees under your control
Control of budget, progress in P3/P6, and reporting same in a structured format

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
Degree in business or engineering plus Registered chartered engineer
