The Role:
POSITION REPORTS TO: Pipelines Project Manager


The Pipelines Construction Team Lead is responsible for the management of the offshore pipeline installation including the landfall works, near shore trenching and pipe-lay operations.


•Responsible for the safe, efficient, and effective execution of project scopes
•Maintain awareness and promote project goals in respect of HSE, Budget, Schedule, and Technical Integrity
•Provide direction, motivation, support and leadership to both internal staff and external contractors.
•Responsible for ensuring the installation contractor delivers a competent organisation and a high standard of resources to successfully execute the work
•Responsible for managing contractor project execution performance and scope delivery.
•Maintain awareness and promote conformance to GPO expectations and requirements of Safe Design and Quality Build within the Pipelines Construction Team and the Contractors.
•Promote, demonstrate and ensure compliance with all appropriate elements of the GPO, Operating Management System (OMS), including Risk Management, continuous improvement and Management of Change.
•Maintain awareness and promote project goals in respect of HSE, Budget, Schedule, and Technical Integrity
•Promote an effective and collaborative working environment with a ‘One Team’ approach.
•Maintain close contact with the Company Construction Management network to ensure relevant lessons and practices are evaluated for applicability to project and implemented as appropriate.

Offshore Pipelines Construction Management:

•Manage the execution of the landfall works, near-shore trenching and pipe-lay
•Manage the vessel operations to complete the offshore execution
•Assure vessel(s) capability to complete the offshore works and manage vessel readiness
•Build and lead a high performance team to facilitate successful delivery of the offshore execution.
•Manage the Company representatives on the offshore vessels and at the landfall
•Provide support to the M&SS PMs in the execution of the vessel upgrades
•Manage communication with the offshore vessel team and the marine operations team to ensure rigorous tracking of safety performance, schedule progress and SIMOPS planning.
•Provide support to the Pipelines Project Manager to deliver safe efficient execution of the offshore activities
•Manage the execution schedule for the landfall and pipe-lay activities and support the integrated marine schedule
•Ensure construction and site management processes are in place
•Work closely with the appropriate project teams to resolve conflicts in the overall interest of the project delivery
•Keep the pipelines Project Manager informed of the key issues within the area of responsibility.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:

• Engineering degree and professional status accreditation with a recognised institution.
• A minimum of 10years experience of general offshore construction and subsea pipeline installation
• Proven experience of pipe-lay barge operations and landfall works
• Proven capability of building and leading successful teams
• Experience with site management activities related to health, safety, and environmental issues
