The Role:
Job description: (inc project and who accountable to)

• The Piping Designer working for the Piping and Equipment Layout Department will be capable of effective and consistent production of draughting deliverables in accordance with company's engineering specifications and designs.
• A Piping Designer reports corporately to the Principal Piping Engineer and for project specific matters to the Project Lead Engineer.

Responsible for the Design and Application of the following:
Using AutoCAD;
• Preparation of Equipment layout drawings.
• Preparation of piping general arrangements and detail drawings.
• Preparation of studies and sketches as directed by engineers during development of design details.
• Check draughting content of drawings.
• Production of all drawings in accordance with corporate and project procedures.
• Preparation of Material Take-offs.
• Attend site meetings and take accurate measurements as required.
• Assist the Piping Engineer in the preparation of Project Control reports.
• Assist the Piping Engineer in the multi-discipline co-ordination of the project.
• Ensure all corporate and project procedures are applied to the draughting work.
• To read, understand and implement the Company Safety Policy and the arrangements described in the Company and area Safety Management System documents.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
• A highly experienced designer qualified to HNC level, proficient in draughting practice, including AutoCAD, with a background in industrial, process and petrochemical engineering.
• Capable of interpretation of project specific design/draughting requirements and to ensure effective and consistent production of draughting deliverables in accordance with engineering specifications and designs.
