The Role:
• The job function is to ensure that the Project objectives for the Piping and Equipment layout department are fulfilled to specified time and cost constraints. All work produced must be to teh Clients company prescribed quality standards.
• A Piping Engineer reports corporately to the Principal Piping Engineer and for project specific matters to the Lead Engineer.

Responsible for the Design and Application of the following:
• To prepare specifications for studies and projects and ensure that the specifications are code compliant.
• To check and approve piping designs and detail drawings produced by piping designers.
• To ensure that all produced documents and drawings are in accordance with corporate and project procedures.
• To raise purchase requisitions for materials as supplied in take-offs compiled by designers.
• To attend project inter-discipline design reviews and studies and ensure that Project objectives are fulfilled and that accurate minutes are recorded.
• Assist the Lead Engineer in the preparation of Project Control reports.
• Assist the Lead Engineer in the multi-discipline co-ordination of the project.
• To read, understand and implement the Company Safety Policy and the arrangements described in the Company and area Safety Management System documents.
• To prepare and maintain the department CTR listing for each Study and Project.
• To prepare and answer technical queries associated with any aspect of work associated with the department.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
A highly experienced Engineer ideally qualified to Degree level in Mechanical Engineering, but an HNC accompanied with extensive relative experience would also be accepted. The engineer will be fully conversant with engineering design office practice and procedures; will have a working knowledge of CAD and preferably PDMS (although not essential), with a background in industrial, gas, process and petrochemical engineering.
The engineer will be capable of administering and leading a design/draughting team and to ensure effective and consistent production of draughting deliverables in accordance with engineering specifications and designs.
