The Role:
Fircroft are seeking a Piping Engineer for a major Oil & Gas operator within the South Of London

Contract duration: 12 months +
Type of Project: offshore related
Rates: Negotiable

Coordination with the Engineering Manager, clearly establish the piping work scope (including Turn Around (TA) Scopes), schedule and cost for the project; communicate it to the Project Team and EPCM Contractor.
Determine optimum staffing requirements to meet all the piping milestone dates and report to the Engineering Manager on any deficiencies.
Ensure all project information related to design, procurement and construction is accurate and timely, meets the relevant standards and specifications and is made available to the project team in line with the required schedule.
Review and communicate progress and performance status to the Engineering Manager, flagging any potential slippage and areas of concern.
Support the plant piping preliminary and Detailed Engineering development.
Ensure adequate flexibility within critical piping systems.
Review the Stress Analysis scope of supply, and stress analysis results.
Expedite and review Material Requisitions bid evaluations & coordination with vendors for piping commodities and piping mechanical specialty items.
Participate in Design Reviews, Cold-eye Reviews, Modelling Reviews, SID Reviews
Review and approval of all associated lists, i.e. Specialty items, Piping tie-ins etc.
Ensure maintenance of material / valve description database up-to-date.
Provide necessary input to line list.
Review and approve all Mechanical/Package Equipment design documentation produced by the engineering contractor (including Long Lead Items), and ensure that plant personnel provide input to the design at each stage of the project.
Ensure key stakeholders (Plant operations, maintenance, reliability, engineering) are effectively engaged at all phases of project development specific to piping goods.
Ensure engineering drawings and design packages are issued by the EPCM Contractor as per the project plans to support subcontracting and construction needs.
Ensure that design packages are transmitted by the Engineering Contractor to enable the timely planning, contracting and efficient field execution.
Ensure release of all required drawings, specs, and procedures necessary for field installation.
Implement procedures to ensure engineering standards and practices are followed on all project work.
Provide engineering assistance to the project planners, estimators on questions related to Mechanical/Package Equipment materials, scope definition, MTO’s and field coordination.
Apply appropriate VIPs, gather and apply lessons learned, best practices. Assist in IPA assessments and assist with Project peer review/assists.
Provide engineering review of all extra work requests relating to Piping and inform Engineering Manager on areas of growth.
Ensure engineering support for Field Construction Personnel.
Reviews all required Mechanical/Package Equipment engineering changes during the project construction phase, and provide recommendation to Engineering Manager on acceptance.
Ensure optimized use of owner and contractor’s resources during field execution phase.
Interface with Construction Manager to ensure quality of work for operability, maintainability, and technical intent on Project.
Produce punch list of items to be corrected on capital work prior to transfer of facilities for commissioning.
Post Construction Phase
Ensure proper project closeout as per company guidelines.
Ensure that “as-built drawings” are completed as required.
Ensure timely completion of all post construction project activities.
Conduct formal project look-back and share lessons learned
