The Company:
Our client is a large multi-national organization which explores, develops, produces and markets crude oil, gas and sulfur. They pride themselves in conducting operations in accordance with the world–class safety and environmental standards.

The Role:
The FE Piping / Mechanical Engineer works with a broad scope of responsibilities in Piping and Mechanical design on multiple, concurrent, small capital projects (typically $1MM – 15MM). Assignments may vary from small project installations to major turnarounds projects to new facility construction. These projects shall include elements of piping and mechanical engineering. The FE Piping / Mechanical Engineer shall be accountable for the quality of all aspects of discipline engineering for a project which he or she has responsibility, from the beginning of CPDEP Phase 1 through Phase 5. Specific Work Responsibilities include the management of the following activities to completion:
•Quality checks on all design documents within the discipline.
•Liaise with other Project Engineers, Discipline Engineers, and Discipline Designers to produce quality designs.
•Fully conversant with Micro-soft windows and a working knowledge of Excel, Word, and all other Window packages.
•Work well within a group and team comprising of varying nationalities.
•For ROK candidates a high level of English skills written and verbal are required.
•Assists in the input to Project Engineers during early project development (CPDEP 1 & 2) phases.
•Assists in the input to and participate in Project Planning, Scheduling and Estimates.
•Provide mentoring to the Lead Mentoring Designers within the Piping / Mechanical discipline;
•Specify major mechanical equipment such as pressure vessels, heat exchangers, boilers, pumps, compressors, tanks etc.
•Specify valves, piping, pipe fitting, insulation and other bulk items.
•Specify HVAC and Fire Protection equipment and bulk items.
•Convert early phase process design to mechanical design.
•Provide early phase engineering and design input to Drawing Office. Review and issue drawings.
•Perform stress analysis of piping system using CAESAR Pipe stress software.
•Perform stress analysis of pressure vessels and components using COMPRESS and other similar software.
•Ensure that all design packages comply with Specifications & ASME, API and other applicable national and international standards.
•Ensure that materials used in the fabrication and construction complies with Specifications and requirements.
•Provide technical support to site construction and Start-up / Commissioning groups. Provide technical solutions to problems at construction site.
•Provide engineering input and engineering support to out-sourced engineering companies in their execution of projects.
•Review out-sourced engineering company drawings and specifications to ensure conformity to Standards and Specifications and contract terms.
•Maintain and update Specifications & Standards in Mechanical / Piping discipline, as needed.
•Responsible for providing input to the development and deployment of engineering work processes, the guidelines, the policies and standards that will ensure the quality of the work product, its efficiency of design and the cost awareness during design and project execution.
•Responsible for providing technical input, reports and discussion to site technical review bodies or committees.

Successful completion of work responsibilities will require coordination, interface and liaison with the following groups and organizations:
•Facilities Engineering Projects, Reliability, Process and Design groups.
•Facilities Engineering Drawing Office.
•Facilities Engineering Construction group.
•Operations and Maintenance groups
•Major Project Contractors
•Engineering Service Companies and Contractors
•Out-Source Engineering groups
•Vendors and Suppliers

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
•Degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited university.
•10-15 years applicable experience in the oil and gas industry.
•English Level 3 is required as a minimum.
•Knowledge of Russian is preferable.
