The Company:
Our client, a major owner/operating company, requires expertise for their ongoing oil sands mega-projects in Alberta.

This position is open to Canadian Citizens and Permanent Residents only.

The Role:
The Mechanical/Piping Superintendent is responsible for oversight and stewardship of the Construction Contractors piping and mechanical discipline construction execution work through to Mechanical Completion, with the following more detailed responsibilities and duties:

Responsibilities and duties:

1. Provide Safety Leadership and Field presence making sure Safety Plan/Program is being implemented
2. Provide oversight and stewardship of the field hydrotest program
3. Ensure Specification and deliverables are being followed
4. Work with QA to ensure work is performed to the required specifications (ITP’s etc)
5. Ensure redlining is being completed and documents reflect as-built condition
6. Assist with/provide input to Change Notice requests
7. Participate in / lead Vendor Package walk downs and provide input/guidance on gap resolution
8. Participate in Subsystem package preparation, pre-walk downs, Tri-Party Walks, Punchlist verification especially for piping and mechanical systems

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Required knowledge, qualifications, skills, and experiences:
• Thorough knowledge of:
. Mechanical and piping engineering design principles and manufacturing processes
. Applicable codes, standards, and trade practices
• Proficient in Microsoft Office suite of software programs, Lotus Notes, etc.
• Read, write, and speak fluent English, especially as required to function effectively within a project team and to communicate with project management, contractors, and sub contractors
