Our Client is one of the world's largest Oil and Gas companies. Their operations cover the entire energy chain, including oil exploration and production to trading, shipping and refining and marketing of petroleum products, as well as chemicals. The Role:
This position is based in Shetland working a 3 on 3 off rota. The expected end date for the contract is 30th April 2015

•Supervise and control the project Construction Contractor and Sub-Contractors in all Piping/Structural activities in order to ascertain that the Plant will be built as per drawings, specifications, procedures, and within budget and schedule.
•Demonstrate personal commitment to the SHE Policy, Maintain awareness of and ensure compliance with all relevant Statutory and Company SHE standards, actively participate in Company safety awareness and initiative schemes.
Discipline Specific
Act as primary Piping / Structural Representative on site
•Ensure that all the Piping/Structural Works fully comply with all Project Design Documentation, with Company Standards and Procedures and with applicable international Codes and Practices.
•Address all Technical Queries related to Piping/Structural.
•Advise the Construction Site Representative on all issues related to Piping/Structural.
•Liaise with QA/QC Department to monitor welding quality performance.
•Liaise with other Trades Superintendents on all interfaces related to Piping/Structural and ensure that interfaces with other disciplines are managed effectively.
•Manage a team of piping and structural supervisors
•Follow-up the preparation and execution of the Construction and Pre-commissioning activities for Piping & Structures.
•Follow-up and close out all the Piping/Structural Construction Punch List items.
•Hand-over the Piping/Structural construction dossiers to the Commissioning Team.
•Assist the COMPANY Site Representative to ensure Compliance with projects Safety objectives throughout the life of the project.
•Ensure that in addition to quality and good engineering practice, planning and cost are followed up.
•Maintain good relationship with Contractors, being flexible enough but also strict when necessary to achieve the objectives of the Project.
•Liaise with Other disciplines, Safety, Cost, and Planning to improve effectiveness of Team
•Keep the Company Site Representative informed of all events which may affect the successful completion of the project goals.

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
•relevant international project construction experience with experience in a supervisory / superintendent role. Must have UK experience in a Supervisory role. Offshore or Onshore or both. Must have a good awareness of other disciplines.
•Relevant trade or Higher qualifications – HNC welcome.
•Recognized level of expertise in construction discipline with a good knowledge of ASME and other international codes and standards with a significant awareness of other disciplines and their interaction.
•Significant responsibility in multi-discipline teams or projects.
•Be familiar with modular construction methods
•Ability to manage multi faceted work faces and to cooperate with multi discipline Superintendents
•Fluent spoken and written English
•Valid Medical Certificate which complies with Company standards.
