The Company:
This role is with the Joint Venture partners for the Gorgon Downstream project.
The Role:
The role of Piping Supervisor is based on site for the Gorgon Downstream project. The role is part of the team working with the MEI&C Contractor's Supervision.
Key responsibilities of the role will include:
• Provide leadership support for the safety and accident prevention.
• Implement safety procedures, subcontractor safety meetings and site inspections.
• Create and maintain the environment in which pursuit of excellence, zero accident, and zero rework is part of the
site culture.
• Monitor performance and productivity for pipe installation work performed by the mechanical contractor and ensure
adequate levels of Supervision.
• Produce weekly reports for the general Superintendant
• Oversee jobsite operations.
• Ensure assigned jobsite operations are in compliance with design/specifications, completion on schedule and to
quality standards.
• Work as an interface between the MEI&C Contractor supervision and the General Superintendent to ensure a one
team approach and harmonious working environment.
• Monitor project schedules, staffing charts, material availability and equipment requirements.
• Monitor project plans and specifications for constructability, conformance to regulatory agency requirements and
productivity improvement.
• Provide technical direction and guidance to staff involved in the development and application of innovative and
unique construction theories and methodologies required by multiple and/or complex projects.
• Ensure technical queries are answered within a reasonable timescale.
• Log delays and mitigate causes
• Review handover / punch lists, carryover works, shipped loose items and disconnects proposed from the module
yards. Review the work-scope documentation received from the fabrication yards
• Review work packs to enable a smooth flow of construction activities
• Continually monitor Construction activities and review ways of removing man-hours from site
• Advise the project team of status, issues, impacts, risk, and cost influence factors on the remaining to go scope.
• Monitor and the implementation of safety orientations safety indoctrinations and gang box meetings and provide
coaching for improvement.
• Ensure al pipe work is complete prior to punching and handing over to the commissioning team.
• Work with other disciplines and provide input into SIMOPs coordination (Simultaneous operations)
Essential Skills / Qualifications:
• Experience within the Construction industry, specifically for construction of LNG plants.
• Experience in a Pipework fabrication and Installation on large projects.
• Demonstrate ability to work with multidiscipline field supervision and contractors; accountable for the successful
implementation of the projects construction philosophy and completions programme.
• Good understanding and able to read Engineering drawings. P&ID’s and Piping Isometrics
• Strong track record for delivering project requirements on time with zero safety incidents and accidents.
• Review JSA, method statements and risk assessments
• Strong team player with the ability to inspire excellence and join a team to provide a successful project
• Demonstrate record of strong commitment to safety.
• Strong understanding in construction means and methods on projects within the oil & gas industry.
• Demonstrate good supervisory skills, mentoring of technical and non-technical personnel whilst on the
