The Company:
Our client is a nuclear specialist, covering both civilian and defence sectors, across the complete lifecycle from New Build, through Operations and Maintenance, to final decommissioning and waste disposal.

The Role:
-The Project Planner is the organiser of a project
-It is the responsbility of the Planning Engineer to set out, monitor, maintain and update the project plan/programme in coordination with all stakeholders of the project.
-The Planner provides information to the Project Management and Design Management teams on project progress to both critical path and project milestones on key nuclear projects.
-It is expected the Project Planner will work closely with the Project Services team in monitoring programme KPI’s e.g. Earned Value. Other responsibilities for the Planning Engineer will include; providing planning support to a small team tasked with identifying, quantifying and delivering acceleration on a major nuclear project and also generating realistic and detailed baseline information from a mixture of known project data and historical performance norms. This is to include a clear critical path.
-The Planning engineer will assembling data to provide an audit trail. They will also be expected to provide second order info to support decision making eg resource ramp ups/levels of overlapping working etc

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
-It is expected that the Planner will have a minimum of a HNC qualification in a relevant engineering discipline
-The Planning Engineer should be competent at planning via industry standard software e.g. Primavera
-The Project Planner will have significant (multiple project) experience of planning roles on major projects within the Nuclear industry

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
-Candidates for the Planning Engineer role will ideally be degree educated
-Experience in the use of the latest P3e software
