The Company:
A leading Australian coal seam gas explorer and producer focused on developing its world-class reserves for domestic and international supply.

The Role:
All applicants must hold full rights to work within Australia to be considered for this role.

The Scheduler will undertake the detailed scheduling of activities for the LNG Plant during the execute phase including; detailed engineering, procurement, fabrication, construction and commissioning phases of the project. The objective of this role is to monitor schedules developed by contractors for site works and undertake the development of individual ‘owners’ project schedules (where appropriate). The Scheduler will work in conjunction with contractor’s management / schedulers and establish QGC detailed schedules for all projects being undertaken. The Scheduler will ensure that schedules produced either by the operator directly or its contractors shall at all times comply with the work breakdown structure and reporting needs. The Scheduler shall plan within the time constraints set by the overall integrated project master schedule.

The Scheduler will maintain these project schedules with progress updates from contractor’s schedules and also from site staff. The Scheduler will monitor and report that contractors are updating their schedules as required. The Scheduler will provide regular updates of the schedules, as required, to the Project Group Planning Team that will maintain an overall Level II program built from the Scheduler’s individual project schedules. The role incorporates both activities for the development of new schedules and the ongoing monitoring, analysis and reporting of ongoing schedules.

Duties:

• Support and provide input to the development of the schedule baselines, including activities and milestones, dependency logic and sequencing, estimating activity durations, determining critical paths, and resource allocation loading and leveling (as applicable)
• Support the schedule baseline approval packages to Project Group Planning Team and Project / Construction Manager
• Facilitate the update and re-issue of the schedules at defined intervals
• Present the schedule updates, provide status information for the project and explain schedule variances from the baseline to the Project Group Planning Team and Project / Construction Manager
• Assist with the schedule management of a project and advise on the performance of a project in relation to this area
• Ensure detailed management and control of the project critical path(s) at all times
• Prepare and present status reports, variance analysis, and corrective action plans for the projects to the Project Group Planning Team and Project / Construction Manager
• Facilitate the maintenance of the schedule, as required including earned value analysis
• Work with Project Group Planning Team and Project / Construction Manager to identify unrecoverable variances and establish mitigation strategies
• Works with Project Group Planning Team to recommend requests for formal re-baseline actions
• Reviews and confirms that contractor’s responsibilities and reporting requirements per the contract, if applicable, are correct and will provide the required information
• Review contractor planning & scheduling and co-ordinate procedures
• Facilitate combining contractor schedules into schedules where required
• Co-ordinate with contractors on the production of detailed look ahead schedules
• Review these contractor schedules with the project team to enable subsequent review and agreement with the vendor or contractor

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
• Demonstrated knowledge and experience in using project management software e.g. Primavera P6
• Experience in developing detailed schedules using Primavera products (preferably P6)
• Understanding of Critical Path scheduling methodology
• Planning and scheduling onshore, LNG Plant projects in pre-and post sanction stages
• Understanding of contracting strategies
• Attention to detail including schedule development and documentation of assumptions supporting the schedule
• Experience in analysing and maintaining project schedules and preparing progress reports
• Experience in applying scheduling skills in a busy construction environment
• Experience in managing contractor schedules and combining multiple contractor schedules to form one project schedule
• The person shall understand and demonstrate the ability to work in a team and understand the need to provide a professional and prompt service to all stakeholders
