The Role:
•Prepare and present detailed planning information (Gantt charts, histograms, PERT charts, WBS, Baselines Schedules, S Curves & Progress reports) for UK projects and tender support
•Independently, or under limited supervision, apply advanced scheduling and planning techniques and analysis within a project environment.
•Liaise with project and other functional planners to obtain critical planning information
•Create work breakdown structures suitable to the programme of work
•Input planning data: activities, tasks, logic, resources, key dates, progress etc
•Analyse planning data and modifications as required to achieve imposed targets through time based analysis and/or resource limited based scheduling
•Maintain progress data on live programs and produce progress reports
•Contribute to internal initiatives such as the implementation of contemporary Project Management software and development of business processes
•Train/mentor more junior planning engineers
•Ensures compliance policies, processes and administration requirements
•Demonstrates HS&E leadership
Qualifications and Education

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
General Education:
Good standard of general education
Qualified with a business related qualification is desirable
Specified Qualifications for position:
Candidates must be able to evidence their training and/or working operational experience of Primavera
Experience with other planning applications - e.g. MSP, Asta, Artemis is desirable
Continuing Professional Development:
Candidates should be able to articulate Learning and Training experiences

Skills

Technical (including IT):
Must be competent in the use of spread-sheeting and word-processing packages
It is essential that candidates is competent in using Primavera, P6 preferred
Interpersonal:
Due to the interactive nature of the role, the person must present themselves in a professional manner effectively to management level in written and oral communication
Strong influencing, communication and facilitation skills desirable
Self Management:
Candidates should have the ability to organise own work effectively
