Our Client is a leading global Built Asset Consultancy

The Role:
This position is based at Sellafield.
The Project Control function provides the processes, procedures, tools and systems necessary to effectively and proactively set-up, monitor, control, and report on all aspects of schedule, cost, estimating and risk for projects, operations, maintenance, decommissioning and functions throughout the managed organisation.
The description hereafter is not intended to provide an exhaustive list of the role, responsibilities, authorities, accountabilities, skills and experience required. Additional duties may be required and assigned by agreement according to business and client needs.
The Project Control Planner job family is responsible for all project type planning activities in support of all project phases and business areas. The following outlines the main expectations for those who are classified in the above job role.
Functionally reports to the Head of Function whilst locally reporting to the Project’s Senior / Project Control Manager (S/PCM) or Senior Planner (as advised by the Project organisation or team chart)
Develop/update project and under pinning programmes as required, (including Performance Measurement Baseline’s (PMB), Sub-Contractor Tender/Contract Schedule analysis). Maintain the integrity of the baseline through robust change control and project progressing techniques.
Provide schedule impact assessment information in support of the PMB change control process
Validate suppliers schedule impact assessment submissions in support of the change control process and oversee the maintenance of suppliers’ contract baselines.
Working on secondment as part of the Clients project controls team, providing a planning service to the wider client business in support of Prepare and take part in the periodic Integrated Baseline Review (IBR) process.
Manage an experienced planning / scheduling capability to establish / maintain integrated performance baseline schedules.
Working in conjunction with suppliers, ensure approved contract baseline schedules are established and maintained (in line with the Latest Change Control procedure)
Validate construction methodologies, resource and cost loading, activity durations, schedule logic, float allocation and critical path identification within supplier’s submissions in support of the project programme approval obligations
Facilitate collaborative planning workshops and provide presentations and coaching in the use of Primavera Planning software Tool.
Provide accurate and timely Project data to meet the Projects reporting commitments
Maintain currency of Project plans and schedules at Level 4 and below where not assigned to a third party (supplier)
Provide advice on the schedule impact of proposed change and integrate approved changes into baseline updates
Apply Rules of Credit and quantity tracking to capture time and cost status for tasks and activities
Work with Risk Managers and project teams to identify and incorporate risk mitigating actions into the planned work scope and to incorporate appropriate time/cost contingency levels across the baseline schedules
Support / facilitate schedule risk analysis on a periodic basis
To comply with company safety standards relating to personal and others.
To be responsible for functional/personal development and identification of appropriate training.
Manage an experienced planning / scheduling capability to establish / maintain integrated performance baseline schedules (in line with the IBR and Change Control procedures)
Maintain schedules in Primavera P6 and alignment with any interfacing databases / software as required.
Achieve compliance with the Projects - Project Execution Requirements (PERs) and project/programme governance procedures.
Identifies and tracks all changes or potential changes to the agreed project scope, ensuring schedule impact are given immediate visibility with appropriate stakeholders.
Integrates cost/schedule/risk data and reporting with the Company’s management systems to facilitate meeting Company performance and financial goals.
To communicate potential effects, and advise upon impacts to project delivery to stakeholders, with potential solution and identifying risks/opportunities affecting project outturn.
To support project close out and shared lessons learned (LFE)
To comply with company safety standards relating to personal and others.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
In-depth knowledge and understanding of project controls as applied in major Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) environments, coupled with extensive expertise in the development/maintenance of project and programme baselines.
Extensive experience of maintaining project/programme performance baselines and their utilisation in generating Earned Value Management (EVM) Data.
Experience of complex Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) projects within the Aviation, Construction, Engineering and Engineering based degree or equivalent, project management qualification (APMP etc.)
Experience of use of Primavera P6 toolset.
Experience of Microsoft Project, Oracle and SAP Databases.

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
Nuclear Industries would be beneficial.
