The Role:
A new position has arisen for a Planner to be site based in Collie and a 3-4 month contract working on a refinery upgrade project.

The role acts to support the project control personnel of various projects utilising the suite of project control systems (including cost, document control and planning systems) in the set-up and execution phases of the project.

You will be accountable for:
• Provide project control and planning services for the support of the project control systems and allocated projects
• Assist the Project Controls Group in the rollout of project control systems including initial configuration and contribution to training activities
• Liaise with project team members to ensure the correct utilisation of the project control systems including cost, document control and planning systems based on project specific requirements and corporate guidelines
• Participate in the development of data interfaces for third party project systems, as required
• Safety – Responsible for personal safety and safe working practices for the Project Controls Group. Understand and follow OH&S procedures.
• Quality Assurance – Responsible for working within the provisions and guidelines of the Quality Assurance system relevant to the Project Controls Group
• Undertake project roles, as required, to include but not limited to: • Take ownership of the planning function and ensure integrity of the data being processed
• Interface with project personnel to develop project forecasts for schedule dates and analyse project schedule
• Conduct schedule analysis utilising resource loading histograms, resource levelling and s-curves to ensure schedules are attainable and realistic given available manning.
• Supervise any supporting roles in the project planning area
• Liaise with clients to clarify schedule related issues and develop timely and meaningful monthly reports. Ensure timely processing of project accounts according to EPCM contract terms
• Liaise with Client for reporting purposes
• Implement schedule controls including management of float, earned value and critical paths
• Preparation of budgets and schedules in conjunction with engineering procurement construction and commissioning team members
• Ensure effective coordination and cooperation between other team members, particularly in regard to cost, planning and document control matters • Portfolio Planning – 150projects onsite, range in size from $10,000 -> $2,000,000.
• Planning for approx. 10 Project Managers
• Planning both Engineering & Construction
• Planning currently focuses heavily on engineering, but would like to extend the construction aspects
• Mentoring Junior Planner

Candidates are prefered to be local residents within the Bunbury Area

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
• Planner 3-5 years professional experience in related duties
• Planner Skilled in the use of Primavera 6 or greater
• Able to operate and work independently
• Proactive
• Able to identify and action improvements, particularly around better Project Controls tools (ie progress measurement), integrating systems and processes.

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
• Experience in the use of InControl or simular cost management databases
• Experience in the use of Document Management System
