Our client, a major owner/operating company, requires expertise for their ongoing oil sands mega-projects in Alberta.This position is open to Canadian Citizens and Permanent Residents only.
Position based in Nanticoke, Ontario
Demonstrate a high level of skill in planning Engineering, Procurement, and Construction projects using computer based planning and scheduling techniques.
Demonstrate Primavera Project Planning and MS Project software fundamentals and operating knowledge
Demonstrate project planning skills, including development of job packs, work lists and constructability input into projects
Work with teams, provide input and take guidance from project managers and group leaders.
Develop project planning / schedule activities for all levels of schedules (Level 1 - 4) using the basis of preliminary project designs and project plans.
Work with project teams and provide guidance related to schedule efficiency and opportunities to improve/reduce schedule
Development of resource histograms / resourcing
Develop specific job plans/packs in preparation for field readiness activities
Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Trades background experience an asset (specifically piping/mechanical)
Ability to read & interpret engineering drawings and facility design basis documents, including P&ID's, Isometrics, civil, structural and I & E drawings
Capital Project Planning experience 5+ years in a project planning role and 10 years in a oil and gas manufacturing environment
Experience applying Critical Path Method planning techniques to develop plans and schedules
Primavera Planner and Microsoft experience required
Ability to apply Earned Value Management techniques to measure/status and monitor performance.
Proven ability to adapt quickly to new systems and procedures, and enhance existing procedures/tools
