The Role:
The role supports the mid to long term planning activities for the UK producing assets and Business Development. These include the preparation of the Strategic Plan, drilling rig scheduling and liaising with the Divisional Planning group based in Calgary. Good organisation skills are required to juggle a number of potentially competing deadlines and deliverables during the year.

Financial:
- Carries out duties in a way that maximises value and minimises waste and risk

Technical/Functional Responsibilities:
• Support Planning Manager
• Collate the Strategic Plan inputs and prepare insightful analyses
• Prepare and distribute the drilling rig schedule
• Co-ordinate the preparation of AFEs (Authorisation for Expenditure.)
• Prepare Board Operations Memos
• Co-ordinate the preparation of the key decisions report (the ‘Radar’)
• Assist in the Decision Analysis process in support of the Planning Manager
• Collate and prepare input to periodic industry surveys (eg for DECC)
• Complete other analyses and ad hoc projects as required

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
- Undergraduate or post graduate degree in an relevant subject (e.g. Law, Business, Economics, Engineering, Geosciences) or equivalent professional qualification (e.g. Chartered Accountant)
- Advanced excel and PowerPoint skills (Experience with project management software such as Microsoft Project or Primavera would be an advantage, as would knowledge of Crystal Ball or @ Risk.)
- Current & relevant industry knowledge and experience acquired in an upstream oil and gas company
