The Company:
Our client, an international oil and gas operator, is seeking a Pllaning Engineer for one of their projects.

The Role:
o Coordinate weekly update of project schedules in Primavera. Coordinate with construction contractors’ schedulers to ensure weekly updates are made. Arrange with project team for monthly update of Project Management schedules. The scheduler may have to maintain several schedules at any given time for various projects in various stages. o Monitor performance of contractors using progress measurement and Earned Value management systems.
o Monitor major project milestones and report deviations in a timely manner.
o Prepare monthly progress reports (Internal/External).
o Prepare monthly cost forecast, using cost loading data in Primavera.
o Attend weekly scheduling coordination meeting. Follow up on meeting action items.
o Attend weekly construction meeting.
o Maintain frequent communication with Company construction reps to verify contractor’s claimed construction progress.
o Periodically visit construction sites to verify progress, and to maintain communication with contractor’s team members.
o Perform other pertinent duties assigned.
o Fully comply with and support Company safety policies. Set an example of good safety behaviours to construction contractors and others.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
o 3 years minimum combined experience and training with CPM scheduling software
o 1 year or more experience with construction planning and scheduling

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
o Ability to operate Primavera Project Manager P6;
o Proficiency in MS Project, MS Word and MS Excel;
o Understanding of flow and logistics required for construction projects;
o Oral and written communication skills sufficient to perform the job;
o Thoroughness and careful attention to details;
o Ability to work cooperatively and courteously with others;
o Work within company policies and procedures
