The Role:
Role Overview

The Planner’s main role will be to give planning support to Transmission and Distribution; this will be primarily for Cabling and ISS (Integrated Security Systems) schemes, depending on workload this may also involve Overhead lines, substations and other schemes. The planning support will include the preparing schedules for tender submissions and producing monthly progress updates for design and construction schemes. There will be further opportunity of being site based / visiting sites to support construction activities.

This role will provide the opportunity to develop the applicant’s career and experience in an expanding Transmission and Distribution work sector. It is available immediately as a permanent position, based at Leicester office location.

Key Responsibilities

• Providing planning support to schemes including but not limited to: -
• Preparation of Tender schedules and submissions in collaboration with the Estimator, Design Engineers and Construction delivery team.
• Planning support to construction schemes, including but not limited to monthly progress updates of contract schedules, critical path analysis, resource profiles, earned value reports, schedule narrative and production norm reports etc.
• Commercial entitlement promoted and highlighted to delivery teams, including suitable planning support.
• Ensure all planning and project control activities are delivered in accordance with guidelines and ‘Planning Best Practices.’
• Depending on workload across T&D business, planning support may be required in other areas of the business.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Role Requirements

• A Planning Engineer with some or established planning experience, looking for the opportunity to progress their career and experience.
• Experience in Cabling and ISS schemes is desirable but not essential (or OHL / Substations).
• The individual shall be proficient in Primavera P6 and Microsoft Project. (Experience in TILOS Time Distance scheduling is desirable but not essential).
• Enthusiasm and ability to integrate into a team, with the skill to liaise and challenge the delivery team.
• Working collaboratively with the client for the successful delivery of projects.
• Good written and spoken English skills for communicating with delivery teams and clients.
