The Role:
The Planner’s role will be to give planning support to Transmission and Distribution business for substation, overhead line and cable schemes. This will be mainly for a recently won Alliance for works in the geographical area covering the South of London, Greater London and the East. This is a four year framework with the potential of being extend to 12 years. The planning support will include preparing schedules for tender submissions and producing monthly progress updates for design and construction schemes. This role is available immediately as a permanent position. It will provide the opportunity to develop the applicant’s career and experience in an expanding Transmission and Distribution work sector. The role will be initially office based at Leicester then potentially moving to an office based further south nearer to the geographical work area.


•Providing planning support to schemes including but not limited to: -
•Preparation of Tender schedules and submissions in collaboration with the Estimator, Design Engineers and Construction delivery team.
•Planning support for Engineering, Procurement and Construction schemes, including but not limited to monthly progress updates of contract schedules, critical path analysis, resource profiles, earned value reports, schedule narrative and production norm reports etc.
•Working collaboratively with the Client and other Alliance framework members for the successfully delivery of a large portfolio of schemes.
•Commercial entitlement promoted and highlighted to delivery teams, including suitable planning support.
•Ensure all planning and project control activities are delivered in accordance with guidelines and ‘Planning Best Practices.’
•Depending on workload across T&D business, planning support may be required in other areas of the business

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
•A Planning Engineer with initial or established planning experience, looking for the opportunity to progress their career and experience.
•The individual shall be proficient in Primavera P6 and Microsoft Project. Desirable to have experience in the development and delivery of substation, overhead Line and cable schemes
•Desirable to have experience of NEC conditions of contract but not essential. Enthusiasm and ability to integrate into a team, with the skill to liaise and challenge the delivery team
•Working collaboratively with the Client and other Alliance members for the successful delivery of projects
•Good written and spoken English skills
