The Company:
Our client is a major operating company into the global oil and gas sector with projects in over 30 countries worldwide. To assist in the delivery of planning excellence across a global portfolio of projects we are now looking for a Planning Manager for a key role to be based in the UK

The Role:
The successful candidate will be tasked with the following activities:

• Define, implement and maintain project planning & scheduling best practices through standards, procedures, and guidelines

• Provide expert guidance on strategic and more detailed planning issues across the portfolio as the technical authority
• Facilitate scheduled risk reviews at key stage gates, and ensure that schedule risks are identified together with mitigating actions
• Develop a strategic overview of capital projects and monitor performance against approved baselines
• Provide guidance to and assist Project teams develop fit-for-purpose planning
• Ensure that inherent risks to the plans and schedules on all projects are identified and understood
• Provide functional and first line technical support to Planning & Scheduling personnel
• Ensure lessons learned are fed back into the history data set for future planning

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will display the following behaviours and skills:

• Degree qualified
• Previous experience in a senior or corporate planning lead role
• A Technical Authority or in a Planning & Scheduling discipline management and planning / risk software role
• Ability to help define best practice for group planning across multiple project teams
• Competence in undertaking earned value and strategic operational review on a "lessons learnt" basis
• Take a leadership role in establishing a culture of excellence
• Primavera technical lead (P6)
