The Company:
Our client is a leading international operator with offices in over 20 locations and exploration projects globally. To assist in the effective project management of upcoming projects we are looking to recruit a Planning Manager for a UK based role with some international travel.

The Role:
The successful candidate will be tasked with the following activity and responsibilities

• Implement and maintain project planning & scheduling best practices and procedures
• Engage with project teams in understanding the planning requirements and risk review processes for individual projects
• Carry out risk reviews using Primavera Risk Analysis at key stages in project delivery along with mitigating actions.
• Assist in the development of a centre of excellence in rolling out best practice
• Engage with regional leadership in recruiting and training planning personnel to include participation in interviews and in making recommendations on hiring decisions.
• Conduct periodic reviews project of group master schedules, support schedules, contractor schedules to ensure planners are following standards and procedures
• Writing of white papers

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
We are therefore keen to recieve applications from candidates with the following skills and experience:

• Degree educated or equivalent in a relevant subject supported by an appropriate professional qualification
• Significant oil & gas experience encompassing upstream and downstream projects at all key stages
• Ability to use and train others in the use of planning software (Primavera and Critical Path analysis)
• Excellent written and verbal communications ability and influencing skills
• Experience in the analysis, review and challenge, and maintenance of project schedules, progress reports, schedule forensics/claims analysis
• Previous track record in leading planning activities on projects which have multiple stakeholders
• Ability to build productive working relationships - internally and externally
