The Role:
Our client is a leading Oil & Gas operator with an impressive portfolio of complex and technically challenging exploration and production projects. Due to an internal promotion we are now looking to recruit an experienced planner into the role of Planning Manager.

The successful candidate will be tasked with the following tasks and accountabilities:-

• Manage all planning, focusing on cost, schedule and risk assurance activity for offshore projects based in Africa
• Assist in the roll out of the asset development plans utilising stage gate and project life cycle milestones
• Management of planning and cost engineers at head office and site
• Coordinate project controls communications between head office, project teams and JV partners
• Establish Level 1 schedules incorporating key dates and milestones approval dates for drilling, subsurface and facilities activity
• Develop Corporate Planning Guidelines and Best Practises and coordinating the change control management process
• Manage concept and FEED schedules with effective reporting to the CEO and regional directors on a monthly basis
• Travel to projects to ensure effective roll out of project controls activities

To apply for this role you must meet the following criteria:

• Strong background in E&P technical, licence & commercial activities of 15 years+
• Senior experience in planning and project controls in an operational setting, ideally deepwater. Familiar with / user of systems such as Primavera, MS Projects and similar planning tools.
• Track record of effective external relationship management and the credibility to act at a senior level with industry and government counterparts.
• Demonstrated skills at putting in place and driving performance management and governance activities.
• Track record of leadership, excellent coaching skills and the ability to operate effectively in a multi-cultural environment.
• Deep understanding of the business and cultural environment in Africa.
• Commitment & dedication to get the task done.
