The Company:
Our client is embarking on one of the largest domestic gas developments on the eastern seaboard on a project that represents around $3 billion investment in Victoria’s energy future, our client is one of Australia premier Oil & Gas producers.

The Role:
Fircroft have been asked to source a Planning Scheduler to be part of their team based in Melbourne.

• Work directly for the project owner
• Long term contract role (12 months)
• Based in Papua Melbourne

The Planning Scheduler will develop, maintain and provide input/updates to owner’s level 1 schedule and Project Master Coordination level 2 on a brownfield project, and to provide the Project Management Team with up-to-date-scheduling and progress status in particular advising the Project Management Team of any schedule deviations and shortfalls in progress.

Responsibilities will include:

• Oversee the preparation of schedules by the EPC contractor and suppliers to ensure they follow and implement the coordination procedures
• Prepare schedule reports including forecasts / outlooks
• Establish, maintain and report performances relative to Level 1
• Analyse schedule performance using earned value methodologies
• Ensure the schedules reflect the full scope of work and check resources are clearly categorised and reflect agreed scope of work.
• Prepare and maintain Project Schedule (using Primavera and MS Project)
• Provide interpretation to management of the project and progress status
• Analyse contractors’ progress reporting and carry out spot checks against contractors’ activities with own team members,
• Work with contractor in developing contractor’s schedules and ensure Project Management Team buy-in to schedule development, updates and re-baselines
• Coordinate and take the lead in managing the approval process of all contractors’ schedules, where applicable

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
• Relevant tertiary qualifications
• Significant experience in planning and scheduling for large multi-disciplinary projects
• In-depth oil and gas experience, including offshore and pipelines
• Confident using project planning tools, including Primavera P3 and MS Project.
