The Company:
Our Client is a Leading Global Operator in the Oil and Gas Industry.

The Role:
The Planning Engineer will be responsible for developing and maintaining the Wells Programme schedule, integrating it as necessary with the overall Project Development schedule and reporting performance progress against it.
This is a line management role reporting to the Project Services Manager and typically responsible for leading a team of approximately 3 Planning Engineers to implement consistent procedures and tools across the project Planning discipline.

• The primary part of the planning engineers’ role is to be forward looking and to ensure the Wells team is focused on critical activities ahead of them, to ensure the overall project schedule objectives are met.
• Coordinate developing the project and programme schedules consistent with Major Projects Common Process & Drilling & Completions Common Process
• Manage the development and management of detailed schedules covering all Wells activities
• Ensure that Schedule learning's from complementary work in other Business units and external Companies are identified and appropriately utilised.
• Develop and implement progress measurement systems.
• Assess potential contractors / vendors schedule capabilities.
• Provide assurance that the Contractor's Schedule systems interface with progress measurement productivity trending and forecasting is effective and consistent
• Promote collaborative information sharing with Team-members and Contractors
• Foster close working relationship with contractors

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
• 5 years project experience including planning and project services support
• Self-motivation and a high level of individual initiative and self-reliance will be required.
• Solid broad based project experience in the selection, design or construction phases of projects and a clear track record of delivery and a willingness/ability to work with all project disciplines.
• Planning experience in the major project environment (including Wells)
• Well developed interpersonal skills, ability to develop and maintain relationships with colleagues and contractors.
• Good communications skills.
• Well developed support/knowledge management networks.
• Understanding of current Schedule best practices and experience with Primavera P6

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
• International experience within North Africa or the Middle East would be an advantage.
• Relevant experience in the upstream segment on onshore Oil and Gas projects.
• Previous experience working with Wells teams and Drilling/Completions engineers.
• University Degree, preferably in Engineering or a similar professional discipline.
• Experience in a client organization
