The Company:
My Client is a major Operator.

The Role:
This position is part of a newly formed Project Development Directorate (PPD), based in Astana, responsible for designing and gaining partner alignments on the next major multi-billion dollar phases of field development.

Reporting to the Project Services Manager, this position is responsible for the planning and scheduling of next phases of field development.

• Deliver timely and accurate estimates in accordance with the approved planning processes and systems.

• Ensure all relevant parties are fully aware of their roles and deliverables with respect to the planning process.

• Work with Project Execution in Aksai to develop and maintain planning and scheduling procedures (requirements), guidelines, and competence for all work in Kazakhstan.

• Develop project plans and schedules

• Deliver timely and accurate scheduling and milestone reports

• Take ownership for planning function and improvements, plus ensure integrity of data being processed.

• Focal point for all planning and scheduling requests.

• Provide early project schedule in support of change control and activity prioritisation processes.

• Identify appropriate discipline resource mix and activity allowance uplifts dependant on the planning maturity.

• Influence project to ensure compliance with the client Way.

• Support systems benchmarking throughout and assist the implementation of best practices.

• Demonstrate visible leadership and commitment to excellent HSSE performance.

• Participate in cost and schedule quantitative risk analyses, using probabilistic techniques and use this to support the project schedules and management of time contingencies.

• Contribute to peer assists, peer reviews and functional reviews.

• Contribute to the Advance central knowledge base to assist in the development of best practice project controls guidelines and procedures.

• Ensure the capture of project close-out information and share with Advance to enable recycling of data to improve estimating and schedule preparation data resources.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
• Able to demonstrate the required level of commitment to HSE, provide HSE leadership to the Project Controls team and identify and recommend HSE improvements within a project

• Experience in the oil, gas, process or construction industries – upstream, mid-stream and down-stream, onshore and offshore facilities

• Demonstrate expert with P6 Planning tool

• Proven record in planning and scheduling on large development projects

• Clear understanding of the interface requirements between planning/scheduling and cost estimating.

• Strong numerical skills.

• Excellent interpersonal and influencing skills.

• HNC / HND / Degree qualified in an Engineering related discipline.

• Proven capability to influence a wide variety of stakeholders with disparate agendas and motivations

• Understands the business/commercial aspects and can appreciate and at times contribute towards the broader strategic considerations

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
• Educated to first degree in a relevant Engineering discipline and a Chartered Engineer or equivalent.

• Strong communication skills (both written and verbal).

• Very effective interpersonal skills that allow this role to strongly influence staff at all levels within the Company and across different cultures.

• Track record of continuing professional development to keep abreast of latest developments relevant to discipline and industry.

• Ability to challenge others in a constructive manner and influence internal peers, internal senior senior managers and partner's representatives to influence decisions or ways of working.

• Team player mindset with ability to work in a multi-cultural environment.
