The Company:
Our Client is a world leading Automotive OEM which is responsible for some of the most iconic 4x4's & Sports Cars produced. Due to the huge demand for current models and substantial investment in future projects there is a requirement for more resources across the business in engineering & manufacturing on a contract basis.

The Role:
* Assist in managing the upfront planning, installation and construction of the Oxford Road paint facility
* Implement the latest health and safety tools and techniques to make the culture of the new facility 'Destination Zero Compliant' supported by the Environmental innovation team, deploy the latest environmental technologies and processes as part of the facility and site commissioning
* Ensure that the new facility complies with all VCA and ISO Quality and Environmental standards
* Introduce Lean manufacturing processes and techniques to continually improve operational efficiency and standards of what will be a world class paint facility
* Support introduction of new Durr base coat and clear coat robots
* Establish best practise management of new robots and co-ordinate team to deliver this
* Optimise paint application to achieve best in class premium quality whilst controlling costs
* Support with paint suppliers the development and launch of new and bespoke colours
* If necessary, must be able to change shifts at short notice and work overtime at short notice, also work from adjusted start times.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
* Must have in-depth knowledge of paint shop processes, especially in the refinish area.
* Introduce Lean manufacturing processes and techniques.
* A good understanding of Environmental standards.
* CAD skills would be a advantage
* Excellent communication skills at all levels, both verbal and written.
* Previous experience working in a paint manufacturing environment cover paint application, repair and polishing processes
* Demonstrable ability at problem solving, investigation, analysis and implementation of effective countermeasures.
* Flexible approach to job responsibilities and working hours.
* Demonstrable man management experience in small teams.
* A good understanding of Quality Systems.
* A good understanding of Environmental standards.
* Approaches all work with drive and enthusiasm; competes against targets; perseveres despite obstacles or setbacks.
* Self-management skills & ability to work on own initiative. PC Fluent (Email, Word, Excel, Powerpoint)

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
* Experience of working in a similar or technical role within the automotive industry, with demonstrable track record of delivery.
* Knowledge of the design and development of new automotive products.
* Knowledge of product development systems used in the automotive industry.
* Excellent knowledge of quality tools used in industrial applications e.g. DVP, FMEA, DFA,
* Robustness Knowledge of issue tracking and release systems e.g. BOM, AIMS, WERS
* Be able to demonstrate high levels of leadership and people development skills.
